And can I make the spell higher than 10th level? The reason for doing this is to fit a 10th level spell or higher of the fire descriptor in a 10th level or higher slot to power the fiery burst reserve feat which then would do Nd6 damage with each burst, N = spell level. The other option is to blow a feat on Heighten Spell and then an epic feat on Improved Heighten Spell -- kinda expensive when I could spend 9000 gp developing an Epic Spell that does the same. |

You can pick up Skill Focus (Spellcraft), but that's about it, from what I remember. I'm pretty sure reserve feats don't apply to epic spells. |
| Jaerom Darkwind05-19-07, 11:57 PM | Epic spells do not have levels. They are treated as 10th-level for many effects, but are not actually of that level. And even if you do convince your DM to let you use one for your reserve feat, you definitely can't increase them past their virtual 10th level. To do what you propose, you'll have to take Improved Spell Capacity ad nauseum and use Heighten Spell (or Improved Heighten Spell, if your DM refuses to kill that feat) to stick a lower-level [Fire] spell in that slot. |
