It seems reasonable to base it on the only kinda-sorta-balanced epic spell system I know, Feanmerc. |

Is it a stretch to say that metamaneuver feats would deal more damage than epic maneuvers, thus rendering such a system pointless? |

For instance, Epic metamanuever feats could let you turn a strike into an attack action or boost, or combine multiple strikes/counters together. This would give a similar effect to Epic manuevers, while being more interesting than a generic damage-boost, and more general than making specific Epic manuevers. If you wanted to continue the Bo9S paradigm, you could make these metamanuevers a special class of manuever themselves - lets call them Styles. Martial Style [Epic] Prerequisites: Martial Lore 23 ranks, ... Benefit: You learn and can prepare a Martial Style. Martial Styles are prepared like Manuevers, but not recovered the same way. You can recover one Style by taking a full round action which provokes AoOs. Special: This feat can be taken more than once. Each time you take it, you learn and can prepare one more Style. The number of ranks in Martial Lore required increases by X each time you take it. Master of Myriad Styles [Epic] Prerequisites: Heavy, requires 30+, maybe even 40+ level. Benefit: You recover your Styles whenever you recover your normal manuevers. |

Actually, the way the feanmerc system works, its better then metamagic. It's +1 level per +10 DC Energy Admixture is +19, or 2 levels Enhance Spell is +10, or 1 level. Quicken Spell is +28, or 3 levels. etc. |
