I was hoping for a bit of help- I'm trying to create and epic spell that functions a lot like Ability Rip form Serpent Kingdom ("relocates" supernatural abilities from one creature/person to another).

Most of the construction I will be able to work out -- The problem is I can't quite figure out what epic spell seed to use as the base seed- nothing really seems to fit the effect of the spell (even the original Ability Rip). I was thinking a combination of afflict and transport, but I was looking for a some help on this one.

Have any ideas? Thanks!

So what do you want to do exactly? If it's not ability rip, what is it?

Ability Rip has a duration of one hour per level. Basically, the epic version of the spell would allow a character to keep the ripped ability indefinitely. A recasting of the spell would replace the stolen ability. I am also looking into DC penalties to remove or limit the level loss (yes, it would have a very high DC -even with the hella backlash etc)

So, caster 1 steals ability A. The caster keeps that supernatural ability. They can cast the spell again on another creature, stealing ability B, however ability A would then be lost since ability B takes it's place.

ability rip+permanent (x5)=permanent ability rip.
Does ordinary ability rip have that drawback? If not, then it's not the worst thing you could do with permanent epic spells.

I think you have the right seeds there- although the x5 will probably knock the DC out of the park (I don't recall if either of those seeds has a duration of it's own that might work instead). And if I remember correctly ability rip causes level loss but can be used to get more than one ability at once, so I'd say capping the number of abilities that can be ripped is a fair way of doing the offset- although I'd still probably ad hoc a bit with it (or perhaps not, I'd have to see it first). But looks like its viable.

No, just use ability rip as a seed. Don't know what level it is but:
1: 14
2: 17
3: 19
4: 21
5: 23
6: 25
7: 27
8: 29
9: 31
Make the casting time 10 minutes, and it's an epic seed.

Ability Rip doesn't entail level loss in exchange for that temporary supernatural ability; rather, it entails the permanent loss of another supernatural ability.

Yes, but if you don't have a ability to exchange, then you lose two character levels (or 2 HD if you don't have character levels)
