Question, is the character with the feats below able to deflect all kind of missle weapons, even magical and so on?

Can he more than once/round use the epic feats??

What if he is in a grapple??

DEFLECT ARROWS [GENERAL]
Prerequisites: Dex 13, Improved Unarmed Strike.

Benefit: You must have at least one hand free (holding nothing) to use this feat. Once per round when you would normally be hit with a ranged weapon, you may deflect it so that you take no damage from it. You must be aware of the attack and not flatfooted. Attempting to deflect a ranged weapon doesn’t count as an action. Unusually massive ranged weapons and ranged attacks generated by spell effects can’t be deflected.

EXCEPTIONAL DEFLECTION [EPIC]
Prerequisites: Dex 21, Wis 19, Deflect Arrows, Improved Unarmed Strike.

Benefit: The character can deflect any ranged attacks (including spells that require ranged touch attacks) as if they were arrows.

wonder does that include warlock's eldritch blast since those are ranged touch attack unless you change the shape to cone or something

Not to sure about grappling, I would guess no, but yes they can deflect ballista bolts and spells that require touch attacks (even eldritch blasts). He can't do it more than once per round without Infinite Deflection, which is all kinds of fun.

If that's not awesome enough, add in Reflect Arrows. The epic monk stands infront of the army, and the army kills itself in a few rounds trying to hit him with arrows/spells.

thats really broken remind me to get line or cone or one of the other shapes that doesn't require touch attacks for those pesty monks

Yeah, ranged attacks really get shafted in epic.

well if you can get in 20ft you can do eldritch doom. but really exceptional deflection how is that fair?

well if you can get in 20ft you can do eldritch doom. but really exceptional deflection how is that fair?...but Eldritch Doom, like all the blast shapes that remove attack rolls, has a Reflex save for half damage. And at epic levels, you will rarely if ever see something failing a saving throw without a critical failure.

so how do you kill a monk as a hellfire warlock?

Using the Eldritch Glaive invocation, which uses neither ranged attacks nor Reflex saves. (It instead lets you make a "full attack" with your eldritch blast using melee touch attacks.)

(... make a "full attack" with your eldritch blast using melee touch attacks.)

Good luck hitting the Monk's AC with that Wisdom Bonus that applies to touch attacks. The Warlock is pretty much boned when it comes to fighting a monk.

Infinite Deflection, I believe, refers back to Deflect Arrows, not to Exceptional Deflection. So you can deflect as many arrows, crossbow bolts, shuriken and such as you want, but only one magical ray or ballista bolt.

if thats true the monk is boned with the sick amounts of hellfire I shall burn upon the 2nd blast I can do a round assuming I can hit it's touch AC

I would argue that since Exceptional Deflection and Infinite Deflection both modify the base feat (Deflect Arrows) by each removing one of the restrictions on it (only being able to deflect arrows and only being able to deflect one attack per round, respectively), they would stack, allowing someone with both feats to deflect as many ranged touch spells or ballista bolts as they like in one round.

That's the way I have always seen it interpreted.

That is also why a Twinned, Repeating, Intensified, Energy Admixtured Orb of <whatever> is a bad idea to send at anyone that might have those feats....

Which is why every Epic character should have them.

Indeed. By the time these feats are available, spellcasters have been demonstrating the definition of "unfair" for about fifteen levels, so I'm not really inclined to pay heed to their sniffling.

Although from a deisgn perspective, infinite deflection needs to be reworked to consider 3.5 mechanics. Each arrow (endritch blast, meteor, ballista bolt, comet, etc.) after the first should be more difficult to deflect. Adding the 3.0 DC 20 Reflex save to additional arrow deflection, and possibly increasing it slightly (+2?) each time, wouldn't be a bad idea.

I've had that HAPPEN to me. Darn near committed suicide by my own spell :( Minus Repeat Spell, though.
