| Grandmaster_Kane07-09-07, 03:57 PM | If someone was to somehow compound all of the possible movement speed increases from classes onto a human what would be the end result? Ill get it started 30 monk 1 barbarian Total so far 140 |
| Bernat07-09-07, 05:02 PM | Monk 33 Barbarian 1 You should limit a bit the challenge... Anyways, from the optimization boards: Speed The Sage investigated a certain way to get up to 2,238 miles per hour here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php%3Ft%3D472241%26origin%3D) |
| Grandmaster_Kane07-09-07, 05:36 PM | monk stops going faster at the 30th level |
| Amazing_Triangle07-09-07, 06:10 PM | monk stops going faster at the 30th level Fast Movement (Ex) The epic monk’s speed when wearing no armor increases by 10 feet at 21st level and every three levels thereafter (24th, 27th, 30th, and so on). emphasis mine. Paragon template would make you faster. So Monk 30/Barbarian 1/Paragon 15 Wearing the Boots of Swiftness 140x3 = 420ftx2 = 840ft per round There are a couple of ways to do it but really as the man said better guidelines should be used. |

All of the above, plus a couple of levels of Druid to shapeshift into a thri-keen, and a couple levels of Thrall of Demogorgon for the double boost. Alternately, you could just take a couple of levels in Planar Shepherd and run around in a slow-time plane. |
| Diplominator07-11-07, 01:10 AM | Footsteps of the Divine (Complete Champion) + extend spell + persistent spell = very, very fast. There's a whole thread on it here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=852524). No, there isn't another way to beat it without infinite loops. |

Persist Spell does not work on dischargeable spells like footsteps of the divine. |
| archerpwr07-11-07, 04:36 PM | It doesn't work. Persist Spell does not work on dischargeable spells like footsteps of the divine. Yes it does. Read the thread. COers are RAW monkies in the extreme. |
| Amazing_Triangle07-11-07, 05:16 PM | Yes it does. Read the thread. COers are RAW monkies in the extreme. Yeah for a round anytime in the 24 hours you cast it. "Originally Posted by Raphael_Maure Has anybody asked Customer Service about the persist-ability of Footsteps of the divine yet? There's really no need to ask; the spell has a definite duration of one round per level or until discharged. Persistent Spell works on any personal-range spell with a duration. The discharge creates an effect, but the spell can expire before being discharged (unlike a held touch spell, which has an instantaneous duration.)" So when you cast it persisted it lasts 24 hours or until discharged then it is 1 round. Oh boy that is great while our builds can do it round after round after round.... |
| Balthanon07-11-07, 06:05 PM | There are numerous classes and alternate class features that grant Fast Movement, almost all of which stack with each other. (Monk and Scout being exceptions, because they enhancement bonuses.) Pre-epic, I think it's possible to get 8-12 of them with some effort. You also need to consider whether you're including fly speeds-- most dragons start off at 150-250 base just with that. |
| Lionhearted07-12-07, 03:09 AM | The legendary ruby vortex tornado thrower.. is a non-epic build add paragon and we got trice the effect whoopie :) |

| archerpwr07-12-07, 04:52 PM | Enough to limit his speed due to encumberance hewards handy haversack? |
| Kihon07-14-07, 09:24 AM | My lowly epic wizard challenges the fastest of all. Have your games and send your speed champion my way. Then the real betting and wagering can begin. Shall we say 1 million GP to the winner of the race? Ahh welcome to the real game. Ready. Ok let me prepare - "I wish that I could run just a little faster then this 'guy' can run with all his buffs, gear, and everything else that makes him move so fast." Don't like that how about this "I wish that I could beat this guy in the upcoming race." Who knows how that works out - the guy sprains his ankle and the wizard hobbles in front of him:) You get the idea... Yes it's costly - the EX of a 'wish' but hey - I'm sure that the reward would be well worth it:) |
| Lionhearted07-14-07, 04:00 PM | The guy only happen to be a avatar of some travelgod and uses his unwritten power of "Divine intervention railroad plot" |
| bluemage5507-14-07, 04:26 PM | Yes it's costly - the EX of a 'wish' but hey - I'm sure that the reward would be well worth it:) And what newbies don't realize is that wish has limits, one of them being that it can only accomplish whatever a 9th-level spell and 5,000 xp are supposed to. In other words, you get a maximum of 28,825 gp equivalent of magical bang out of it, and that's it, which may give you at most a polymorph any object into a fast-moving form. |
| Kihon07-14-07, 06:27 PM | I'm sorry Bluemage... I thought I specified that it was an Epic Wizard casting an Epic Wish (which does have larger EX costs, GP Costs to create, and potential effects). |

The fast move from barbarian would not get trippled, nor would the speed boost monk gives you. Also, Boots of Swiftness would not stack with the monk move bonus. Paragon still works for speed though… Three-Headed Sirrush (120) + War Beast (+10) -> Tauric (with human I guess) + Feral (+10) Feral Tauric (140) + Paragon (x3) + Epic Pseudonatural (x2) -> Speed 840 Add in Boots of Swiftness for 1680. |
| bluemage5507-16-07, 05:17 PM | The paragon template should give a +60 ft. bonus to speed rather than a multiplier. 3.5 did away with speed multipliers precisely because it causes issues when you try to track what order it applies in, and because 3.5 moved away from multipliers in general. |
