HI

I put together a list of feats that are no available at 21st level, as part of feat planning, and I thought the list might be useful to others. It looks at feats in a slightly different way - so you can see what level opponent you need to proved to give him Epic Dodge, for instance, so I think it helps DMs.

Now there are a lot at level 22, but effectively I think they are really 23, as I can only see one way in the core to get a second epic feat at 22nd level, and that is as a fighter, so other than Epic Weapon Specialization and Devastating Critical, all the 22s should really be 23. Most are limited based on required ranks in a skill, but some require another epic feat be taken first, and that means they can't be taken until someone gets a second epic feat (as I said, no earlier than 22nd, though more likely 23rd). Here is the list

Epic Feats with Required Level > 21

Level Feat
22 Colossal Wild Shape (requires Gargantuan Wild Shape)
22 Devastating Critical (requires Overwhelming Critical)
22 Fine Wild Shape (requires Diminutive Wild Shape)
22 Epic Weapon Specialization (requires Epic Weapon Focus)
22 Epic Trapfinding
22 Ignore Material Components
22 Improved Combat Casting
22 Lasting Inspiration
22 Permanent Emanation
22 Ranged Inspiration
22 Rapid Inspiration
22 Shattering Strike
22 Spell Opportunity
22 Spontaneous Spell
22 Terrifying Rage
22 Vorpal Strike (requires Keen Strike)
22 Zone of Animation (requires Undead Mastery)

23 Craft Epic Wondrous Item

24 Automatic Still Spell
24 Hindering Song
24 Magical Beast Wild Shape

25 Craft Epic Arms and Armor

27 Automatic Quicken Spell
27 Death of Enemies
27 Dragon Wild Shape
27 Epic Dodge
27 Epic Inspiration
27 Group Inspiration
27 Improved Metamagic
27 Inspire Excellence
27 Intensify Spell
27 Legendary Commander
27 Legendary Tracker
27 Music of the Gods
27 Reactive Countersong
27 Self-Concealment
27 Spontaneous Domain Acces

29 Craft Epic Rod

32 Craft Epic Staff
32 Forge Epic Ring

An interesting note is that there are few feats with level requirements above 30th level. From this I assume there is a lot of room for more powerful feats that require ranks and therefore levels even higher - and which would have much more powerful effects as a result. Also note how Crafting is pushed away from the PCs until much higher levels. This is important in finding levels at which to assume items even exist. If there are no 32nd level characters in your world, then they didn't make any Epic Rings either....You need a different reason for those.

Hope it helps someone.

I believe technically, a Loremaster who times it right can acquire an epic feat at 22 using the secret that grants a feat (so long as he hasn't used it pre-epic and hasn't maxed out the class.) And if you go outside of Core, there are a few other methods-- Ardente Dilletante for example.
