| Sygurd04-11-08, 09:53 AM | I play a level 30 character build around the Spellsword prestige class and I really like the idea of a spell caster in a full plate armor channeling spells via his sword. However I feel this character is missing a lot of punch when doing an epic encounter, compared to the other characters in the party. Is this a result of being a hybrid or is there a way to pimp an epic Spellsword? Currently I have this build: Fighter 2 / Wizard 4 / Spellsword 10 / Raumathari Battlemage 8 / Zhentarim Skymage 5 / Archmage 1 Feats: Power Attack, Cleave, Combat Casting, Mounted Combat, Fly-by-Attack, Quicken Spell, Enlarge Spell, Practiced spellcaster, Spell Focus (Evocation), Great Spell Penetration, Superior Initiative, 2x Automatic Quicken (1st - 6th level spells), Epic Spellcaster Oh yeah, I ride a mature black dragon, and with the Skymage class you can share spells with your flying mount. Any suggestions are welcome :-) |

If you want to channel spells in fullplate a progression more like this would be better: Fighter 1/ Wizard 6/ Spellsword 1/ Abjurant Champion 5/ Eldritch Knight 7/ Cloistered Cleric 1/ Ordained Champion 3/Runesmith 1 The last 5 levels have several great options: Incantatrix (free metamagic) Dweomerkeeper (undispellable buffs and can advance cleric once done with wizard casting) Loremaster (turn skill focus into an epic feat) Divine Oracle (Armored Evasion) |

I am not so familiar with Ordained Champion & Runesmith, so will check them out ... btw don't you need to be a dwarf to be a runesmith... I am an half elf. :-) Thanks again for the suggestions |
