Is it possible to absorb say a wand and then use it as if it is apart of you. Thus for e.g. you can never loose the wand.

A wand must be held in your hand, or what passes for your hand, to be used.

Other items, such as a stone of good luck, can be concievably deposited inside of your body and still function.

However, Warforged can get a Wand Sheath, which works almost exactly as you are describing. I also believe that there is a sort of "Construct Arms" graft somewhere, which essentially gives you a Warforged arm. Good for all those artificers trying to use UMD to hold a battlefist, and good for you, since I would assume you could put a wand sheath into it.

I would have no problem with it so long as they are items that work if they are merely in your possession. Wands don't because they need to be in your hand.

The Avangion in darksun has an ability vaguely similar to this. It really has no game mechanic benefit other than the fact that the items can't be stolen.

I would also say they are immune to a targeted dispel--no line of effect. Not to mention a disjunction.

In FR Netheril (2e), the Netherese developed Kildrum wands, which were wands that were implanted into the forearm and thereafter used your own vitality (in the form of hit points) to cast their spell. For example, you could implant a wand of fireballs into your arm, then use it to cast a 3d6 fireball by taking 3 points of damage, or a 10d6 fireball by taking 10 points of damage, and so forth. I did a quick conversion some years ago. Will try to find it if you're interested.
