Hey guys, I'm away from my books for a month or so, so I only have access to the SRD.

I've been building an Assassin and I'm planning for Epic, one thing I was wondering is could an Assassin with Lingering Damage make a Death Attack and have it repeated in the follwing round?

Now the SRD text states that the Sneak Attack damage is repeated the following round, so the answer to my question is no, however I'm just checking to see if the SRD text is any different from the actual book's text.

Any help would be great!

PS: Here's the SRD's text:

Lingering Damage [Epic]
Prerequisite
Sneak attack +8d6, crippling strike class feature.

Benefit
Any time you deal damage with a sneak attack, that target takes damage equal to your sneak attack bonus damage on your next turn as well.

As you can see it is clearly SA bonus damage, but still I thought I'd ask to see if the book's taxt is different.

No, only the damage is reapplied. There is a feat in Dragon #297 that can do this.

What you could do, is make another feat, that has Lingering strike as prereq

The feat is called "Lingering Death" - make a Fort save again the next round. Prereq is Death Attack, Improved Death Attack, Cha 21. Can be taken multiple times to extend the number of rounds you have to make saves.

Definitely peruse Dragon 297 when you get it, though some of the epic stuff suffers from coming out before the book was finalized, so some details are not consistent.

Wow, that Feat rules, I was wondering thou, does it include away for a Victim to heal themselves before having to make more saves?

For instance, if my Epic Assassin Death Attacks the Imperial Prince and he is saves on his first attempt, I can picture him staggering arround trying to find me or call for help before making another save in the following round, however if he recieved immediate medical help (through the Heal Skill or a Healing Spell) would he still have to make another save? Or is this simply not covered?

Death Ward should do it. It's a death effect, right?

Death ward only stops magical death effects.

Death ward only stops magical death effects.

oh. I wasn't sure.

Can't think of anything. Fort save increase? Epic spell with the heal seed (ad hoc +2).
