This thread is intended for duels with less strict rules than the Epic Duels thread. Taeldrin will DM this one as well. This thread is intended for characters that do not fit the stipulations of the original. "Winning" is not to be a goal outside of a duel itself, in particular. I.e., you create a character, and when that character enters a duel, he wants to win. You do not create the character to win.
This is a thread where duels can be held between PCs you have in existing campaigns, where you can have your homemade creatures have a fight with someone else.

First planned is a duel between my Favored Soul and Seerow's Chameleon.

Bump to let people know I'm still alive, and will actually post eventually. Either later tonight or tomorrow morning hopefully. Been busier than I thought I'd be the last couple of days. (You'd think I'd have more time without a job, but instead my social life ends up eating more time as everyone can hang out during the times I used to work. Go figure. Add in a parent's birthday and...)

Once I actually sit down and do it it won't take but a few minutes (okay maybe an hour) to update to level 30 though. Then I'll be set.

I found myself! Unfortunately the search DC for time is unhittable.

I have a few hours right now, so I'll finally have this up soon. Sorry for taking litterally a week longer than what I said I would.

Okay, question, can I use the Chameleon Epic Progression from Dicefreaks? (The one that Witch linked to on another topic) I'm not sure how balanced it is, but I'm equally unsure of progressing in a new class for the last 10 levels. (I'm also dropping a 3.0 prestige class out of the progression, because I doubt that would fly here)
Witch

12-09-06, 11:39 AM
It's fine by me, but you'll have to ask Taeldrin if you want to know for sure. I'm not certain about it's balance either; I'm sure J.D. will advocate it's balanced, but I recall others have doubted it.
Seerow

12-09-06, 11:44 AM
Well I have two real problems with continuing in another class:

1) I don't get epic bonus feats
2) I don't qualify for any of them because Chameleon abilities don't qualify you for feats or prestige classes. The Epic Chameleon comes packaged with epic feats that allow you to change that.
Seerow

12-09-06, 12:28 PM
Hrm... yeah. Just attempting to do this is killing my brain. Epic Chameleons = Absurd. It's harder to bring it past level 20 than I thought it would be. Sorry to keep you guys waiting for a week then bail, but I don't see it working.

(Besides, it was becoming totally different from the original character anyway, as I was trying to eliminate Divine Metamagic abuse and Peerless Archer as well, which is part of what made it hard. The other part was trying to make sense of having 3 aptitudes, what epic feats I could and couldn't qualify for, etc. It was just a wee bit absurd.)

Meant to post this here, not in the other thread:

Hey, just had a thought. If we are doing variant duels here for characters that don't fit in the official thread maybe I can use my Weaponist PrC against someone?

Cool, can you approve the class for me? Or do you want me to make a build first? Probably best you approve the class first as then I would probably want to knock up an Epic progression to be approved if the class is.
Taeldrin Laesrash

Shall we go for 45? It'll give me more fun levels to play with. And what exactly is the base wealth for that level? I think I've figured out an equation to get there, but I want to make sure we're on the same page.

Witch

12-30-06, 09:24 AM
My "PC" is less than... generally known. Taeldrin, the DM knows where to find it. I'll not be checking your character sheet - all I checked is its level. Taeldrin will state the arena, so we'll have to wait. I'll describe her later. (Taeldrin, I'll be using Behemoth for this. You know what she is - please have an appropriate arena for such a creature :))
ApocalypseRat

12-30-06, 09:36 AM
Behemoth Huh, i wonder.....
Taeldrin Laesrash

12-30-06, 09:47 AM
Okay, let's see. Witch, have you seen the character? It' 50th level, while Behemoth is what, CR 36?
Witch

12-30-06, 09:57 AM
I've checked its level, yes. And yes, that's Behemoths CR. His character doesn't look supremely optimised to me, and by DF regulations, a character at level 50 is CR 35. I should stand a chance :)
Taeldrin Laesrash

12-30-06, 10:14 AM
Very well. Witch, ApocalypseRat, get ready.

This will be your arena. There are no obstructions at U12 though V16 and D12 though E16. (http://boards1.wizards.com/leaving.php?destination=http://www.colugo.org/jmcmurra/SRD/exodusMapsCrossroadsRiver.html)

AR, your character starts on square X14. Witch...start your character on the red square, if that's possible.

OK a few things first do i have Dirge, and this is my first time for a thread battle....So like what do i do?
Witch

12-30-06, 10:24 AM
My character will be on B12 to D15.

Before you stands a vastly fat fiend - your imagination of “obesity” seems to fall short. It resembles a humanoid creature, yet could fill almost an entire room; her layers of fat tremble on the ground, as she sweats incredibly. Her breath fills the area with an odour one would only expect coming from rotting dead bodies. This Bloated Lady wears no clothes, yet her private parts remain invisible because of all the fat. Her disgusting breasts - they can hardly be called so - lie upon her protruding belly. Above the vile woman's torso, lacking a neck, rests a head, with a facial expression that conveys an everlasting desire for more. The giant mouth sports hundreds upon hundreds of seemingly blunt teeth, worn after millennia after millenia of continual eating.
Do you want to play, big boy? , a deep voice speaks.

OOC: Initiative 15.

Edit: you can have your Dire Lion if granted by a feat or class features. If not, you can have him as well, but I get my Majordomo as well. What you do is roll initiative. Then, we take turns: first one buffing round. Everything is then resolved as normal.
Taeldrin Laesrash

12-30-06, 10:29 AM
Sorry, sorry. Forgot to explain.

AR, no, these are one-on-one duels.

Both of you, roll your initiative with an online dice roller and post the result. The winner will go first, after one rounds of purely prepatory actions.
ApocalypseRat

OOC: Online initiative roll: Initiative (1d20+8=12) (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=803293)
Preparing for the battle, the Duchess of Gluttony calls for aid. A crack in the ground opens, out of which two pit fiends rise, taking their places at her sides. The crack swiftly closes.

OOC: Standard action to call 2 Pit Fiends. They take their places at F12-G13 and F14-G15.

Valthur throws both epic rod of the silver wyrm on the ground to summon 2 wyrm silver dragons...

correct?
Witch

12-30-06, 11:02 AM
(That takes a standard action. You can only do it with one Rod of the Wyrm per turn)

It's now your turn, as the summoning was your buffing round. Feel free to do the same with your other rod as your first turn, if you want. I hope you have stats for them.

Taeldrin, do you want to roll initiative for these summons, or do they act on our turn?

12-30-06, 11:41 AM
Where is the Ring of Greater Invisibility found? If it is homemade, why is it a free action, while it is normally a standard action to activate magic items?

Disturbed by her opponent's disappearance, Behemoth activates True Seeing The Pit Fiends wave their arms, summoning forth a cornugon each - quickly, the pit fiends turn, and both throw a ball of fire towards the original location of the dragonslayer.

OOC: Pit Fiends use their summon abilities, which they can, because they themselves were called.
They both use a Quickened Fireball. Fireball (10d6=41, 10d6=37) (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=803351) Reflex DC 21 for half damage.

Quickened Greater Invisiblity (spell lv 11x20CLx2000gp),

Witch

12-30-06, 12:23 PM
Quickened Greater Invisibility is a level 8 Spell, not 11. A level 20 caster can't even cast a level 11 spell. Now, assuming CL 20, the price would be:
8*20*2000*4 (measured in rounds) = 1,280,000 for "active if worn". With charges per day, that would change to 768,000.

I'd still prefer you send a spell & feat list to Taeldrin, so you can use your spells later on if necessary. But very well, my turn. Are you doing anything yourself? Also, I'd like to know where on the map your dragon is standing.

Reflex Save (1d20+19=38, 1d20+19=34) (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=803762)

Cornugons are standing just left and just right of each pit fiend, respectively. Do they get hit too? Does Behemoth get hit?

Pit fiend left took 79 nonlethal damage.
Pit fiend right took 158 nonlethal damage.
ApocalypseRat

12-30-06, 04:47 PM
no that was to replace my dragons last turn, and i did send the list of both rods, i still do the same, Auronuxus is centered on P-14 and only the balors get hit, its before they summon and is the fireballs at Auronuxus or ME?
Witch

12-30-06, 05:03 PM
Okay, since you've changed what you did in a turn, I'm going to switch what I did too.

Recapping, this is what happened:

Surprise Round:
Dragonslayer: uses item to summon a silver wyrm
Behemoth: summons two pit fiends

Round 1
Dragonslayer uses invisibility and draws a weapon.
Dragon moves to center at P14 (please provide me with where the left top corner and the right bottom corner).

I will do my actions once I know exact position of the dragon, as it changes my strategy.
Taeldrin Laesrash

12-30-06, 05:48 PM
No redoing actions, please. BTW, AR, neither of your dragons have Banishment in their spells known.
Witch

12-30-06, 05:50 PM
Taeldrin - I'm redoing it, since he retconned his actions. He only posted the banishment after I posted my actions. Then he edited in his previous post, etcetera. Then he switched his action to a non-banishment spell. To keep it fair, I'm now going to base myself on what he actually did. I've listed what's actually happened for clarity. I'd also appreciate if in the future, nothing is going to be changed after happening.

A Wyrm is Gargantuan. It takes up a 20ft.x20ft. space. You list a 10ft.x10ft. one. So you'll need to restate.
Furthermore, a frightful presence takes effect when a dragon attacks, charges or flies overhead. You've done none of that ;)

Behemoth uses her powers to regain track of the invisible enemy. She then opens her maw, out of which ten pairs of jaws rush out, heading towards Valthur.
One of her Pit Fiends aids her, using a vile spell to protect both his mistress and his companion. The other fiend throws a fireball at Valthur, swiftly followed by another one, joined by the first fiend.

The fiends, recognising that they stand little chance at this location, decide to change tactics. All three teleport.

You yourself are standing on X14, that is correct?

There is now a Pit Fiend at W12-X13. There is also a Pit Fiend at W15-X16. Behemoth is now at U12-V15. Make a Will save DC 44 and two Will saves DC 27. If you fail any of these you are affected as though by fear.

This thread is intended for duels with less strict rules than the Epic Duels thread. Taeldrin will DM this one as well.

Greetings, I'd like to start forming up a character for this effort as well. This current submission is a variant of the one that we've been working on in the other duels thread. Other than the power level being ECL45, the key difference in this effort is the use of the Frenzied Berserker prestige class. It's my first time exploring this class. Thanks.

EDIT: character removed. I'll repost another to another thread at some point.

Pit fiend left took 89 nonlethal damage.
Pit fiend right took 158 nonlethal damage.
Behemoth took 43 nonlethal damage.

I was wrong about where Behemoth could be - her size prevents that exact location. Nevertheless, nothing important changes.
Assume that she's at T12-W15 instead. Pit Fiends are at W16-X17 and W10-X11. I'm changing this because of the fact that I had miscounted Behemoth's size, and she would otherwise overlap with the Dragons. However, nothing important changes to anything else.

As the Dragon-killer teleports away, Behemoth smiles from the other side, using her claws to turn herself around, with obvious effort. Time for some fun, boy. Both dragons wink out of existence as their magic is nullified.

Using Wish to replicate antimagic field.
Anti-magic field is centered on the top right point of T15.
Regardless of the shape of the area, you select the point where the spell originates, but otherwise you don’t control which creatures or objects the spell affects. The point of origin of a spell is always a grid intersection. When determining whether a given creature is within the area of a spell, count out the distance from the point of origin in squares just as you do when moving a character or when determining the range for a ranged attack. The only difference is that instead of counting from the center of one square to the center of the next, you count from intersection to intersection.
This makes the Dragons wink out of existence, as they are summoned creatures. The Pit Fiends are called, and hence unaffected. The abilities the fiends possess are, however, nullified.
ApocalypseRat

01-02-07, 04:52 PM
thats fine and all but there were never summoned(say as per summon monster spell) there rods that "grew" into the dragon as a standard action, and are the rods until they are slain or i dismiss them. no where does it say that the rods can be dispelled or the latter, neither in DMG/ELH does it say rods can be displelled or surpressed.

And if you used Wish to replicate said spell of said spell lvl what is its duration/round

and unless TL rules other wise they are treated as Wyrms/rods, not summoned creators...

so what im saying is ill let this one be up to the DM first...

They're still magical items. Magical Items are suppressed in an antimagic field, and their effect, if brought in an antimagic field, is dispelled, as normal for any magical item's effect. Taeldrin can make a final ruling, here.
There's no difference in duration when casting it through wish or without it. The duration is 520 minutes.

They are definitely suppressed. Whether they are negated entirely, I will leave up to Taeldrin. I would rule they're back in rod-form, to be picked up by you (picking one up is a move action), and can be redeployed outside the anti-magic field (standard action to use one rod).
ApocalypseRat

01-02-07, 05:06 PM
sounds ok but i wouldnt need to redeploy them (unless there are negated[ruling pending]) they would just come back into existence...
Witch

01-02-07, 05:07 PM
I'd disagree on that - but that part is debatable, and hence, I leave it up to Taeldrin. For the moment, they're lying in the antimagic field, though, so you'd still have to move them out of it.
PhaedrusXY

01-03-07, 01:31 AM
Antimagic Field suppresses magical effects, not Dispels them. Of course they'd reappear if the Field was turned off. Just like a character's buffs who enters and leaves an AMF would still all be functioning.

I do agree that they'd be suppressed though, as the item is just an epic version of the Figurines of Wonderous Power (and is based off Polymorph), and not something that actually Calls a creature like Gate or Planar Binding.

Anyway, just my two cents.
Taeldrin Laesrash

Thank you Phaedrus. Sums up my thoughts. I'll let you redeploy the rods elsewhere.

ok and just final clearification...

Using Wish to replicate antimagic field.
Anti-magic field is centered on the top right point of T15.

and the spell has a ten foot radius, point on t-15
that would make the spaures it effects are s-15, s-16, t-15, t-16
and as i said...

Valthur teleports beside Auronuxus (p-16) and uses other rod to summon Ur-Klauthon (q-20, t-17)

...so Ur-Klauthon is not effected being shes just out of the effected area...

While Valthur is trying to pick up one of the rods, Behemoth grabs her opponent, eager to feast upon him. Oh, no, you're not bringing him back, dear friend..

OOC: AoO granted by the move action to initiate a grapple. The grapple precedes the picking up, so if the grapple succeeds, you've never picked it up.

One of the pit fiends moves to grab the Rod of the Wyrm. The other one stays back, waiting. Behemoth herself smiles as the impudent fool stays out of her reach. Playing it that way, are we?

You've still got a bow in your hands. You never noted that you dropped the bow, so no, you don't get an AoO for those. Aside from that, my reach is 20ft., and you're about 15ft. away. I doubt you have 15ft. reach. Furthermore, I have Improved Grab.

In that case, you're pinned, and because of having established a hold, I've drawn you in my space. The right-top corner, specifically, in the antimagic field. It's your turn. Being pinned, there's not many options, but you can try and get out of it.
ApocalypseRat

Witch

01-04-07, 11:28 AM
No, you can't get any actions between those. You failed the initial grappling check, which established the hold, and pulled you in the antimagic field. Because of that, you now have zero chance of ever winning a grapple check or breaking the pin - my bonus on grapple is +70, yours is +47 (because your bracers with +12 strength are disabled in an antimagic field). Basically, you're completely at my mercy, right now.

I automatically succeed (grapple checks don't fail on a natural one).

During subsequent rounds, I consistently use the disarm action to strip you of all items.

Behemoth enjoys as she strips her opponent of all the useful items he possesses - she is eager to see the orbs of dragonkind. She could surely use those to strenghten her position on Stygia. Finally, when she has removed all she deems useful from Valthur, she tosses him straight in her gigantic mouth, where nothing but slow, painful degustation waits him, nauseated by an overwhelming stink of acid and half-devoured delicacies. With all his weaponry removed from him, Valthur's life is ended humiliatingly, and disgustingly, eaten alive by one of the Hellspawn. Behemoth takes the weaponry, orbs, rods and other useful items, and returns to Stygia.

It was a nice duel. You had a chance to win - but you lacked somewhat in regards to tactics.

The AMF lasts 540 minutes, so I have time enough to do all that :) I was unsure I'd win at first, to be fair. I think you'd have had far more chance to win if you were able to beat my regeneration, and consistently stayed at range. Just for the record I am not going to bother making my Weaponist as mentioned a few pages ago. I have worked out that the PrC must be fairly well balanced as I cannot see any point playing one in a duel! Maybe if I beefed up the 10th level ability...

Hmm, I doubt I really need playtesting for her. I wouldn't mind giving it a try though - but she's a very strange fight. Would likely be very easily defeatable by people who know her weaknesses.

WarDragon will start at L4-M5. I will start at K19-N22.
WarDragon

01-07-07, 03:40 PM
Two Dukes of Hell, battling for the honor and entertainment of Asmodeus. Kleitos, Avernian Duke of Brutality versus Behemoth, Stygian Duke of Gluttony!

Kleitos, a massive figure that could be taken for an oversized human if not for his claws, horns and wings, roars out a challenge to his opponent.

OOC: Initiative 33, no buffs.
Witch

01-07-07, 03:46 PM
Out of the distance, a bellowing laughter echoes through the halls. You should've stayed where you belonged, Avernian. She knew this was a more dangerous battle than it should've been - it was unusual for her to be caught to a near-equal without servants. This'd be a dangerous effort. Swiftly, the Duchess called two pit fiends in, who took their place at her side.

Initiative 15.
The calling was my buff round - if you want to do the same, go ahead :) It's your turn, as well.
Pit Fiends at K23-L24 & M23-N24.
WarDragon

01-07-07, 03:59 PM
"Pathetic Stygian coward! Are you so unsure of your power that you fear to fight without aid?" He snarls; this contest was to prove the raw might of Avernus over the treachery of the Fifth before the Great King Asmodeus, but it seems he must counter her servants.

"Come forth, my vassals, and clear the path to my corpulent peer!" The Avernian duke rises above the wall on a mighty flap of his wings, and two more pit fiends appear flanking him.

OOC: Fly 40 ft. up, to clear the walls. Pit fiends are flying over J7-K6 and N7-O6.
Witch

01-07-07, 04:26 PM
Did you ever expect me to hold you to your terms, little one? I didn't become what I am now by such methods. Though trying to avoid it, her tone is one of uncertainty. The terms for this battle might have been unclear at best, but its purpose seemed quite clear - one or both of them, was being tested. She would need to prepare - quickly, she uses one of her abilities. Two of the Ashmadia fly up, eager for slaughter. We have been called. We respond., they call out in unity.

OOC: Unholy Aura CL 53
Pit Fiends both use Persistent Image to make these two seem flying above. CL18

Wait...Did I okay this duel? I don't think so. Witch, WarDragon, don't do this again. However, since no one else seems to be ready, I will let this go on. But I repeat myself: Don't do this again. I'd like for duelers to have my OK.

"Very well, you disgusting blob, have it your way! You two, more!" Kleitos' called pit fiends each make a gesture in the air, and a pair of cornugons appear beside them. Kleitos roars in fury, unleashing the rage that ever boils in his heart, and a hideous red light begins to burn in his eyes, and the eyes of his minions.

Kleitos flies across the room, leaving his pit fiends and cornugons behind as they recover from the summoning; the Duke crashes into one of Behemoth's pit fiends, ready to tear it apart... only to fly right through it, with a disgusted expression. "Illusion? The mighty Behemoth hides behind illusion? I'll tear you apart!" The observant might notice a slight quaver in his voice, but it is nearly drowned out by anger.

Use rage, burning all my daily uses on Kleitos' unique ability, Unleash the Fury. Passed the will save to see it was an illusion, and against Behemoth's fear aura (still shaken, though).
Witch

01-08-07, 03:22 AM
Two illusions of Ashmadia remain, though they are now obviously unreal. From beneath, two average pit fiends look up towards this Duke of Brutality, uncomfortable yet still smiling for their ruse. Both of them call for reinforcements - Behemoth wouldn't want the fight to be... unequal for the wrong side. Behemoth herself continues A bit overenthousiastic, brutal one? As she opens her maw, ten pairs of jaws fly out, snapping at the Duke.

OOC: Horned devils standing at I23-J24 & O23-P24.
Intensified, Vile Manyjaws on you. You take 120 damage, 60 of which is vile. You can make a reflex save DC 25 for half damage.

[...]She would need to prepare - quickly, she uses one of her abilities. Two of the Ashmadia fly up, eager for slaughter.[/I] We have been called. We respond., they call out in unity.

Uh, I don't think you can actually do that; I mean I don't think a Duke of Hell is 'allowed' to summon a member of the Ashmadia. While DF hasn't officially provided a stance, it's usually inferred and assumed that only Aesmadeva is able to summon one of the Ashmadia.

You may have to call a 'normal' fiend instead (two in this case), though ultimately its the DM's call.

Kleitos dodges the flying jaws with contemptuous ease. "Always eager for blood, bloated one." He dives at the other duke, claws outstretched, as his own summoned devils, sharing their master's bloodlust, fly towards the fray as well; two converge on each of Behemoth's pit fiends, striking with claw and chain.

Make the Reflex save for Manyjaws, with Evasion. Doing a charge attack, which triggers Witch's readied action.

A pit fiend and cornugon charge each of your pit fiends, with the following results.
PF1: 44 to hit, 33 damage
PF2: 44 to hit, 31 damage
C1: 49 to hit, 24 damage and DC 31 Fort save or be stunned
C2: 43 to hit, 29 damage and DC 31 Fort save or be stunned
Witch

01-08-07, 06:24 PM
OOC:
Pit Fiend 1 took 57 damage and is stunned for 2 rounds.
Pit Fiend 2 took 60 damage and is not stunned.

Behemoth easily snatches the Duke of Brutality out of the air as he charges towards her, clenching him closely to her chest. It must be terribly difficult for the Duke to live through this - the stench is horrid. I might just enjoy this embrace, dragonling. She clenches her arm around him closer and closer, until he can hardly move.
One of the pit fiends stands stunned, unable to act. The other one carefully uses an ability, attempting to strike those near him unable to move. Behemoth's cornugons strike agains Kleitos'.

OOC: Pinned Kleitos; he takes 45 nonlethal damage.
Pit Fiend defensively (auto-succeed) uses mass hold monster. DC 27.
Cornugons' spiked chain against the other cornugons attacks:

2: +42 (22 damage), auto-miss, auto-miss;

"You're hardly my type, bloated one. Get me out of this, you fools, before I vomit!"

Though one of Kleitos' pit fiends was stunned by the other's magic, his remaining three minions rush to their master's side; even in the midst of the battle-fury he inspires, they know better than to disobey his command. They take hold of the chains encircling his torso, and the rolls of fat holding him down, and start tugging him free as he struggles out of the 'embrace.'

OOC: One pit fiend failed the save against Hold Monster, but all other saves were passed. Three devils give me Aid Another on my grapple checks to escape the pin. Results of 81, 64, 71, 69, 74.

01-08-07, 07:09 PM
OOC: My grapple checks are 88, 75, 79, 74 & 80.

It takes Behemoth somewhat more effort to keep the Duke pinned in her layers of fat than before - nevertheless, she seems to manage regardless. Behemoth's free pit fiend once again attempts to halt these lesser devils. The two cornugons finish the remaining pit fiend. Avernian - withdraw from this place, perform a ... slight .... service for me, and this will never have happened. Any rumors will be quenched. Do you understand me? , Behemoth whispers in the Duke's ear, dripping drewl all over it.

OOC: the 2 Cornugons Coup-de-Gras on the paralyzed Pit Fiend. I doubt he'll survive. If you want me to do rolls for it, let me know.
Pit Fiends recasts mass hold monster.
Re-pinning you. Check = 81.

Unbroken, he manages to twist his head around and spit in his opponent's eye. "Let me go to fight, or kill me and be done with it, slime."

OOC: Fail the grapple check to break the pin, and the Concentration check to teleport. The paralyzed pit fiend dies, but the others all make their saves.

Apparently, it works sufficiently as a distraction - he does not seem to be able to escape.
Finally, Behemoth's minions finish the last of Kleitos'. It seems he is alone now.
WarDragon

"Much better; now, you Stygian blob, let me show you what really gets me... excited."

Visible or otherwise, I'll still dig the heart out of that bloated carcass! Rrraaaaagh!" With a roar, he dives towards the spot where he last saw Behemoth before the Stygian disappeared, knowing that she cannot move under her own power, and even a mere pit fiend can easily create an illusion to trick him. BTW WarDragon - you have a +50 Spot and Listen, and you only need a 50 to pinpoint the exact square of any unmoving, living invisible creature (exceed DC 30 to notice by 20 to pinpoint), so you can't fail but know where she is. You still have a 50% miss chance. Unless I am missing something...

OOC: Witch generously allowed me to replay last round instead of futilely wasting it.

Kleitos' keen senses had located the blob-turned-wyrmling when it first disappeared, despite being forced to vent his frustrations on the pit fiend. With another roar, he leaps across the chamber, focusing his attacks on the new form, seemingly chosen in mockery of his own parentage.

OOC: Made my reactive spot check easily, then pounce. First attack is a Stunning attempt (DC 47), keeping the -6 Power Attack.

Behemoth, heavily hurt, drops to the ground, 50ft. lower. Her loyal cornugons run to her aid, taking their place 20ft. above her, as to block the straight line between Kleitos and her.

His voice a near-bestial snarl now that his bloodlust has been roused, without being sated, Kleitos growls to the horned devils, "Out of my way, fools!" He flies toward them, seemingly about to crash into them... but flits gracefully around them at the last instant, deftly avoiding their whirling chains. He lashes out at the square where Behemoth fell, smashing at her with all his might.

OOC: Fly around Cornugons, auto-pass the Tumble check, passed the spot check to pinpoint Behemoth. Make a single attack, with 20 points of power attack and a Stunning fist; 44 to hit, pass the miss chance, 54 damage, DC 47 Fort save.

Down from the heavens, a winged, scaled humanoid sheathed in magical items glides down into position. Upon closer look, one would think he had taken a red wyrmling's head and was using it as a helmet. However, his fire-red eyes were very much alive and blinking. His expression, instead of the vain smile usually worn by his draconic ancestors, was turned downward into a frown of concentration. He knew he faced a Duke of Hell. Though Drake was quite aware of what his opponent was, he had no "smiting" in mind for this creature. Drake coveted the magical items his opponent was sure to have. He finally let a toothy grin cross his face as he prepared for the fight, waiting to see his opponent cleaved in two with his weapon. He twirled his naginata in his hands at the thought.

Hiya folks,

I'm in the midst of finishing a beastie that I'm hoping might stand a chance at whoopin' some of ya. ECL 58-59. Anyone interested? I realize that it's somewhat higher then the rest of the duels thus far have used, so no biggie if folks want to stay at the lower levels. Unless someone wants to play Bael as my opponent....I'm working on an ECL 45 as well, but that one ain't ready yet.
Witch

01-18-07, 01:38 PM
I'm afraid I don't deal in ECLs - I have no clue what the ECLs of my creatures are. I merely know of their CRs.
If your creature is a player character: calculate your CR like this, for equality's sake: Every class level over character level 20 only adds 1/2 to your CR. If your CR is about 50 then, I'll be glad to use something *smile*.
Luminryl

01-18-07, 01:53 PM
Witch,

Theoretically, if I was to add their base CR and their character levels, using your method where every class level over 20 is a 1/2 CR, they have a grand total of 42. If we're looking for 50, I can proceed to add another 16 character levels to them. Do I have that right?
Witch

01-18-07, 01:57 PM
Sure. 50'll do for me. Gives me some interesting choices :)
Luminryl

01-18-07, 02:14 PM
All righty then. To double-check my numbers (for example) if I have a base creature CR of 10, I can add 60 character levels to give them a total CR of 50. (Base CR 10 + 20 character levels is CR 30, and then a 1/2 CR for each remaining character level - 1/2 x 40 = 20). If that's the case, I've got 16 levels of somethin' or other to add to my critter. That being said, what's the total cash I get to spend? I was using the 22.7 million GP figure for CR 45, but what's 50?
Witch

01-18-07, 02:20 PM
Math is correct.

I'm not sure about the money and don't have the time to look it up right now. I'm fairly certain most critters I've got here don't have more than 1 or 2 items.

However, he has no tail, and a second face adorns his posterior, echoing the same image as his primary face - even speaking as he speaks. He wears an elaborate tunic and leggings, although the latter doesn't cover his second face. Over the top of these, he wears a flowing, though short, cape; this article has been carefully tailored to avoid impeding his voluminous bat-like wings. His eyes appear almost human, though the whites are instead black, and the irises red; they seem inflamed. He seems somewhat weary of being distracted from far more important tasks for a banality as a duel.
Swiftly, he casts a spell, and activates his staff to cast another one.

In another room, far away, a slightly humanoid figure about six and a half feet tall stands. He is covered in nearly shredded black robes, with an electric blue globe hanging from his neck. He hoists his hands to his face, rubbing his hands together. His arms, though, still stretch to the ground. Finally, his long, hairless face, a milky purple color, bears a pair of leering eyes and and a barely-existant nose. His mouth, supported by a collection of thin fleshy legs, perches on his shoulder, snickering.
He focuses his innate demonic powers, and his form begins to fade away until he can not be seen. There is a quick word uttered, and a pulsing black sphere of destructive energy forms a few feet away from the demon.

His mouth, leaning on the edge of his shoulder, whispers to the dark sphere, "Come here, my lovely..."

Move to C14, along with the sphere.

The fiends shrug off the attacks, though more by luck than by anything else. Swiftly, they teleport away. The location behinds them blurs somewhat, as a ray comes sweeping out of it, hitting Sosram directly. He feels his powers over the planes drained away. Out of Leonar's staff spout four orbs of cold, heading directly towards the demon. The blur calms again, slipping out of sight.

Quickened Dimensional Lock:87 to hit (used Moment of Prescience), SR roll: 70.
Quickened Canian Ice Storm (functions as meteor swarm except that it deals piercing and cold damage instead of bludgeoning and fire)

Yeah, some of them were very high. I tolled a 20 and a 19 on the saves, sort of freaked me out at first, as I was afraid you'd think I was cheating (as I like to roll my dice in front of me, so I actually get some use out of them ^^). I only rolled low on a few of the attack rolls

It wouldn't be fair, because I'm still building my char (although I'm nearly done) and if I knew Behemoth had, say, protection from bludgeoning, spikes on my tail might seem more appealing, subconsciously of course, but I want it to be on fair grounds. Leonar took 41 damage.
Pit Fiend took 83 damage.

The pit fiend seems harmed, though Leonar far less so - he seemed to cope with such things far better. He would try how this creature dealt with some other spells, and then see what to do. A ball of darkfire spouts from his hands as he gestures - it comes down upon Sosram, enveloping him completely. Another one spouts out of his staff, yet.. it does not seem fire. Two balls of vile sound approach Sosram quickly, shaking him to his very core. Meanwhile, the pit fiend moves out of his sight into another corridor (D18-E19).

Corrupted violated maximized delayed blast fireball, set to immediate explosion. Take 120 damage: 30 unholy, 30 vile unholy, 30 fire, 30 vile fire. Reflex save 37 for half.
Violated Sonicball: 76 damage: 38 vile sonic, 38 sonic. Same DC for half.
Another violated sonicball: 35 vile sonic, 35 sonic. Same DC.

Reflex Save: 55 (30 total unholy damage, no fire damage from energy resistance)
Reflex Save: 44 (38 total sonic)

Current HP: 601

Screaming from his humilation at the hands of the Duke of Hell, Sosram flies towards the neighboring chamber. He unleashes his arms, each one flying at least fifteen feet to strike Leonar with a scratch from Sosram's long nails. He then begins to latch onto Leonar.

Although the first attempt to grapple him failed, the second did not. Leonar's held tightly within Sosram's claws. But not for long, as the Chancellor of Cania teleports out, seemingly without effort. Two cones spout out of his staff, enveloping the demon lord. He moves out again.

2* Quickened Sonic Admixed Cone of Cold. Reflex save DC 31 for half each.

Taeldrin Laesrash

02-08-07, 09:28 AM
Sorry, I didn't see a PM.

Both saves were successful (46, 51).

Total HP: 523.

Rather than flare up in rage again, Sosram quickly casts a spell, and disappears. A few moments later, he appears, lashing out at Leonar with a trio of supernaturally fast lashes of his arms. More horrifying, though, is that behind Sosram, there is a wide, bold image displaying every vile and twisted and even demonic thought of the Chancellor's, pulled together into a single potpourri of images. Though Leonar is quite evil and doesn't regret a thing (Probably), the sight is still somewhat disturbing.

Swfit Action: Cast time stop. (5 rounds)
Move Action: Move to C5.
Standard Action: Use haste SLA.
Standard Action: Cast permanent image. Thanks to Work of Horror, Leonar must make a Will Save (DC 31), or take a -6 penalty on AC, attacks, and saves.
Move Action: Do nothing.
Standard Action: Cast moment of prescience.
Move Action: Do nothing.
Full-round action: Wait.
Full-round action: Wait. During these five rounds, Sosram has recovered 100 hp, and is back at 623 hp.

Full-round action: Full attack, 3 slams.
Attack 1: 70, 12 bludgeoning plus 6 Wisdom drain.
Attack 2: 80, 7 bludgeoning plus 5 Wisdom drain.
Attack 3: 66, 8 bludgeoning plus 6 Wisdom drain.

Meanwhile, Sosram's sphere of destruction moves elsewhere, seeking infernal prey. (Move to D13.)

And I've got nondetection running. Which I forgot when you pierced my invisibility, which was my mistake.
Do you think that True Seeing requires this once for every defence it tries to break, or only once in general?

Also, please tell me all magical effects you've got running - because of my Greater Arcane Sight.
Taeldrin Laesrash

02-09-07, 09:37 AM
Well, the spell just says that it sees through the various effects (Nondetection isn't one of them). What do you think?

Also, by magical effects, do you mean all the ones from cast spells and magic items, or also his natural magical effects? (Speaking of which, I forgot to add the bonus from a magical item to the natural attack damage).
Witch

02-09-07, 09:53 AM
This spell functions like arcane sight, except that you automatically know which spells or magical effects are active upon any individual or object you see.
Anything that'd have an aura detectable with detect magic :)

I.e., spell-like abilities and spells. I don't think I can detect Supernatural & Extraordinary.

Nondetection is what prevents True Seeing from working against divination, in specific. I'm merely unsure if True Seeing breaks through the spell once, or once for every effect.
Taeldrin Laesrash

02-09-07, 07:21 PM
Well, Sosram's magical effects include: 1 haste spell, his amulet, a superior invisibility which I keep forgetting about, and the dimensional lock Leonar put on him.

As for the true seeing issue, I imagine that it breaks through for each effect. If you're not seeing everything exactly, then it's not very true, is it?

Re: Nondetection

My view is that it interacts once with each divination spell that tries to see past it. I say this because it affects the individual target, not the spells, etc. So if True Seeing defeats the Nondetection, the Seer can then see everything on that individual. But if he adds Greater Arcance Sight, or Analyze Dweomer on the same target, would need to roll another caster level check.

ROB
Witch

02-13-07, 05:15 PM
It may have taken him some time, but the Chancellor knew what he should do, now. There was ample opportunity to fix this. Quickly, he unleashed one of his mightiest spells upon Sosram, feasting upon his magic. Some motions and words spawn a ray heading straight towards the Demon Lord, diminishing his strength. Another wave of his hand, a few mumbled words, and tentacles grab Sosram in mid-air.
Targeted Superb Dispelling on True Seeing: 55. Spell is surpressed for 4 rounds, and I would argue that reactivating it would require a new caster check.

Ray of Enfeeblement: -11 on strength (penalty, not damage).
Black Tentacles: Grapple 68; 5 bludgeoning damage, 4 vile bludgeoning damage.

Pit Fiend: 59 damage total
Leonar: 17 damage total

Does leaving the arena count as losing the duel?
Taeldrin Laesrash

02-13-07, 07:49 PM
I would argue so, since you're fleeing the scene of the battle. Also, how are you targetting my true seeing? It's an effect granted by the Demon Lord template.
Witch

02-13-07, 08:24 PM
It's a spell-like ability, isn't it? Spell-like abilities can be dispelled. Given that it's "always active", I'd count it as similar to how Tenacious Spell works. Oh, and who said I was leaving the arena?

Also, are you trying to banish Sosram? Hmph. I assume that you'd be using a dismissal.
LordBOB777

Sorry for the wait.

His strength failing, grappled by the magical effects of his foe, Sosram cringes in the grasp of the tentacles. However, he still has fight in him. He manages to turn, and stares into the front face of Leonar. In Sosram's black eyes, the Duke of Hell sees an evil that is completely without order, a gaze of harmful insanity emmiting from the Demon Lord. Leonar's mind feels attacked by the gaze of Sosram, and begins to warp from the alienness of the demon's mind.

Full-round action: Gaze attack at Leonar. The Duke must make a Will Save against DC 51.

One of several things. Said ability was one of Sosram's Abyssal Blessings, and can do some nasty stuff. But for this:

The madness of the demon lord's glare escapes Leonar's comprehension, who cannot help but make wilder and wilder conjectures. He finds that the more he thinks, the less he can reason, and is soon reduced to near-thoughtless.

I'm very interested in entering a duel eventually but I have never actually
participated in forum style dueling. I've been following the fights to-date
with avid interest. I'm creating a CR 50 character as we speak but it could
take me a while as I'm going through the skill alotting process very carefully
and double-checking everything to ensure utmost accuracy in stats.

I do have a couple of questions however regarding what is and what is not acceptable. Particularly regarding feats, I wished my character to utilize the
Battle Dance feat from Dragon magazine (as he is a charisma based fighter).
Are there any particular rules regarding what feats may be selected and what classes/PRCs are acceptable? Thanks in advance for any info.

In the meantime I will attempt to polish up my creation!
Witch

02-20-07, 03:44 PM
There are no particular rules for this - the idea is for characters of about equal strength to duel eachother. Seeing as many of our abilities were made up (generally as a special ability granted by a template), it'd be quite strange to limit feats unless they're horridly unbalanced.

Such as Monkey Grip, because we ALL KNOW Money Grip is the biggest game breaker of them all. /end sarcasm

Monkey Grip is perhaps the most overrated feat in all time. Also the most misunderstood. Though that's not really relevant to what was asked.

Another question if I may, Witch.
To quote you from another thread:

I work by the Dicefreaks statistic caps. Let me clarify that to you.
Humanoids are capped at 50 hit dice, so they will never get a higher level than 50.

This gets rid of the build I was working on. I was going by what you had
mentioned regarding CR previously in this thread. Creating a CR 50 humanoid (barring stacking a ridiculous amount of high LA templates on) entails making
him close to lvl 80. Guess I should rework my entire build to fit a 50 progression instead.

Have you considered using a Pit Fiend/Solar/... base instead? :) Alternatively, making it a Demon Atrocity, Demon Lord, Duke of Hell, Archdevil, or one of the similar templates. You can find the first two on the Horrors of the Abyss board at Dicefreaks. The latter two in Gates of Hell, but it's in pdf-form. I could direct you to other templates as well, but those're less final :)

What about a creature from the Book of Exalted Deeds, such as one of the
more powerful Eladrin (the Tulani). I still might draw up several humanoid
based builds that are CR 35 instead just because it's so much fun playing
around with different concept characters that are good at different things. :D

Now that I Think about it, CR is a better measure.

A part of LA is that the abilities get to be used over and over again among many fights.

That isn't the case here.

Don't worry...

Sosram mutters a call, and twenty feet away, a balor appears. This balor, though, appears a bit more formidable than your average demon, and smarter as well. The balor focuses, and soon, Sosram manages to slip out of the spell's grasp, and move away.
"Come, Akei'dos," he says, his mouth leaning forwards on the demon's shoulder. "Let us finish the foe."

Sosram: Move Action: Call Akei'dso (Balor Egoist)

Akei’dos: Standard Action: Manifest reality revision to bestow psionic freedom of movement on Sosram.
Move Action: Move to C7.

Sosram: Standard Action: Escape from black tentacles.
5-ft. step to C5.

Swift Action: Manifest Quickened psionic restoration on Sosram.

You're aware that doesn't do anything, right? You don't have any ability damage, as far as I'm aware of (and iirc, you're immune to it by virtue of DvR 0 that the Demon Lord template brings)
Taeldrin Laesrash

02-25-07, 06:22 PM
I am? Oh, right. Then why'd you cast ray of enfeeblement on Sosram? Am I allowed to change that, or should I let it stick?
Witch

02-25-07, 06:23 PM
Because Ray of Enfeeblement is not Strength damage, it is a strength penalty. You're not immune to penalties, and restoration doesn't remove them. Go ahead and change it, your character would know it wouldn't work.

Psionx

It revises reality without the tentacles in it. Think of it like white out. Though you might want to say that there is some magic/psionics transparency.
Witch

03-09-07, 07:03 PM
It just seems like replicating a targeted greater dispel magic, which would mean it gets only 1d20+20 on the caster level check.
Taeldrin Laesrash

03-10-07, 12:24 AM
...I don't really have a concrete, in-the-text effect, but it's somewhat implied that reality revision could do something like that (Or at least, if you want, force a caster/manifester level check with a bonus for dispelling).
Witch

03-10-07, 07:20 AM
How about allowing it to force a dispel check where your manifester level isn't limited? I.e., you roll d20+manifester level, against a DC of 11+my caster level. That seems to make sense to me, while preserving the fact that it's still supposed to be powerful. Perhaps we should ask for an outside opinion on this one.
Taeldrin Laesrash

03-10-07, 10:04 AM
Very well. Who should we ask?
Witch

03-10-07, 10:06 AM
Mercucio suggested you got a caster level check of 1d20+ML+9 (for power level) against 11+CL of black tentacles.
Taeldrin Laesrash

First of, sorry for butting unanounced into your thread and cluttering it up, but I felt I had to add something to the Reality Revision (henceforth referred to as RR)/Black Tentacles (BT) discussion.

By the way, could you let me know how Reality Revision gets rid of the black tentacles?.

...I don't really have a concrete, in-the-text effect, but it's somewhat implied that reality revision could do something like that (Or at least, if you want, force a caster/manifester level check with a bonus for dispelling).

Frankly, I don't think it would be out of line to rule that RR could get rid of BT with impunity.

First off, RR can remove much higher-level spell effects (9th level effects, even), without granting that spell's caster a level-check to avoid having his spell dispelled: Undo the harmful effects of many other powers, such as microcosm, geas/quest, or insanity.

Second, by simulating the power Freedom of Movement, Psionic (with the equivalent of the Chain Spell feat) it can grant a minimum of 18 creatures complete immunity to BT, almost half the number of targets BT can affect at once (and even so, they have to be tightly packed for the spell to achieve such an optimal effiency).

In light of this, would it really be an unreasonable ruling that RR could get rid of lower-level spell effects, regardless of the casterlevel of said effect (especially considering that it costs 5,000 XP, compared to Mage's Disjunction which costs nothing at all)?

Again, if comments such as this from the peanut gallery are unappropiate, just tell me and I shall refrain from such in the future.
Witch

03-13-07, 08:37 AM

Then it should duplicate Freedom of Movement and be subject to dispelling.

First off, RR can remove much higher-level spell effects (9th level effects, even), without granting that spell's caster a level-check to avoid having his spell dispelled:
Those spells are explicitly stated to work in that fashion.

Do you think Wish cast by a level 17 caster would be able to remove a caster level 100 spell? I don't think so, not unless the spell explicitly allows for it (which it doesn't, at the moment.) Ofcourse, if Taeldrin wants, he can have it replicated Freedom of Movement.

A figure stands before you, face concealed by a pitch-black cloak with a pale blue flame surrounding him. Two pure red scythes sit firmly in his gnarled, gray hands. The land itself screams in fear of his prescience. The sky’s blood red clouds loom far above you, with a giant eye in the center staring down at you. A voice whispers softly within your head, “This might actually be fun, are you ready?” his voice is tainted with the sound of insanity, and it sounds as if the dark bell of chaos is hidden within his voice.

Firahel is Elven for “Dark Sadness”, which fits very well with his history. I have the whole thing actually there, I just didn’t feel like typing it in here. But yeah, this is what resulted from the accident made by my Players. Well, they may have gotten themselves all killed, but at least there was only one of the bunch to get absorbed J. And no, no matter how much anyone begs me, the player characters cannot use this creature.

Combat
Firahel has a deadly mix of strong combat and special abilities. He prefers to absorb the tougher opponents so as not to let their abilities go to waste in death, or rather un-death. He has many of ways to dispatch foes at both close and far range. Some believe he could overthrow the Nine Lords of Hell if he actually paid attention to the war.
Abomination Traits: Immune to polymorphing, petrifaction, and other form-altering attacks, not subject to Energy Drain, Ability Drain, Ability Damage, or Death From Massive Damage, Immune to Mind-affecting effects; Fire resistance 20; cold resistance; Non-detection; True seeing at will; Blindsight 500 ft.; Telepathy out to 1,000 ft.
Absorption(ex): If Firahel begins his turn with an enemy in his hold (see below), He can choose to force the enemy to make a Will save (DC 190) or instantly die by giving all of their powers to him. Firahel will gain HD equal to the absorbed enemy’s HD, and will get all abilities according to the increase of HD along with key statistics that the dm specifies (examples include: Abilities, Class Levels, Divine Rank, Natural Armor, Special Attacks and Special Qualities chosen by dm, and more). If the target of this ability saves, Firahel may make another attempt to absorb that opponent on his next turn.
Annihilation(Su): By speaking the proper spell words in Dark Speech and slamming his two scythes into the ground, Firahel can create a shockwave that destroys all enemies within 200 ft. This works as the spell Disintegrate, except it has a radius of 200 ft. centered on Firahel (who, of course, is not affected by it), is not affected by spell resistance, and has a Fortitude save of DC 104.
Black Hole(Sp): As a full round action, Firahel can create a Black hole any where within Line of Sight and takes up a 5 ft. space. This Black Hole lasts for a full round, or as long as Firahel concentrates on it. All creatures caught within 50 ft. of it must make a (DC 104) Reflex save to avoid being sucked up into it, except for Firahel. Colossal creatures get a +10 bonus on this, Gargantuan to Huge Creatures get a +5 bonus, Small to Tiny creatures get a –5 on this, and Diminutive and smaller creatures get a –10 on this check. If brought inside of a creature, the creature must instead make a Fortitude save with the same DC.
Call Iskkothar(Su): Firahel can summon 1d8 Iskkothar. Unlike other summon abilities, the creatures summoned from this are not subject to spells such as AntiMagic Field. This ability can be used twice per encounter, and the creatures called stay for the rest of the encounter, until all have been slain, or banished, whichever comes first. For statistics on the Iskkothar, see below.
Domain Powers: May Use Death Touch 1/day with a cleric level of 100, Smite 1/day with a cleric level of 100, Can cast evil spells at +1 caster level, Free Blind-Fight Feat, +1 bonus on attacks and damage with unarmed and natural attacks, Gain an 100 point enhancement to strength 1/day.
Enlarged Fighting(ex): Firahel can use Medium Two-Handed weapons as if they were one handed weapons. This would be why he is able to wield two scythes, and he attack once with each scyth when he gets off an attack of opportunity with his scythes. His 20 spikes have a reach of 80 feet (but cannot attack adjacent opponents with them), and can use all of them in any attack of opportunity that he gets within 80 feet (as long as it’s not adjacent).
Fear Aura(ex): Firahel’s mere prescience makes any enemy that can see him run with fear. Any enemy with HD equal to or less than Firahel’s HD that sees Firahel must make a Will save (DC 87) or become panicked. Then, if that check is successful, the enemy must make a (DC 97) Will save or become Frightened. If they succeed on that on, they must make a (DC 107) Will save or become Shaken. If all of these saves are passed, the enemy that made the saves is immune to this effect for the rest of the day.
Flight(ex): Firahel can simply just start floating in the air whenever he wants. He doesn’t move the air so he can move through the air like a bird or a dragon does, the air moves for him.
Foretelling: As Firahel comes nearer to wherever he wants to be; whether it be by distance or time; The sky turns red, space and reality become supremely unstable, all plant life slowly decays, animals become restless and start spreading out towards the opposite direction he’s coming or just heading for the four winds if he’s just going to pop up, and many other worrying signs. Those that recognize the signs are usually smart enough to start packing up, even those that don’t know anything about Firahel would still be wise to do the same.
Hatred’s Flame(ex): Anyone that Strikes Firahel with a melee weapon or otherwise touches him takes 5d10 Vile damage, 5d10 Fire damage, 5d10 evil damage, and 5d10 un-typed damage per attack. Once per round, he can make the flame expand into a 15 ft. radius by cutting the damage dealt by it in half.
Hold(ex): If Firahel hit’s with all 20 spikes, he automatically grapples them. They cannot attempt to escape this grapple until it is their turn and must make a grapple check against Firahel (Who’s Grapple check would be 1d20+265). Firahel does not automatically fail on a grapple check when the enemy is two or more size categories higher than his own when this ability is used. No attack of opportunity is allowed against Firahel when he uses this ability. Firahel does not have to move into his opponents square to continue the grapple, but can rather stay in place. When using this ability, Firahel can still attack with his scythes, but not his spikes. He retains his Dexterity bonus to AC, and he can move just as before. When it reaches Firahel’s turn after he started the grapple, and the enemy is still in Firahel’s hold, he can choose to use his Absorption ability.
Immunities: Firahel is Immune to- Acid, Fire, banishment, All Form-altering attacks (such as Polymorphing and Petrification), energy drain, ability drain, ability damage, death from massive damage, mind-affecting effects, poison, sleep, paralysis, stunning, disease, death effects, necromantic effects, critical hits, subdual damage, Any effect that requires a Fortitude save unless it effects objects.
Obliteration: By speaking the correct words in the Dark Speech, Firahal can call down a giant white beam of Divine energy originating form the giant eye in the red sky. This causes a explosion covering 250 feet. At the very center, it deals 250d3 Divine damage, and decreases by 2d3 for every five feet outwards.
Regeneration: The Regeneration can only be overcome by a weapon made of a specific metal involved in his past.
Rebuke/Command Undead: Firahel can rebuke and command undead as a 100th level cleric. A few of his feats make adjustments to this.
Salient Divine Abilities: Alter Reality, Annihilating Strike, Craft Artifact, Divine Blast, Divine Dodge, Divine Fast Healing, Free Move, Hand of Death, Indomitable Strength, Instant Move, Irresistable Attack, Know Death, Lay Curse, Lay Quest, Life and Death, Mass Life and Death, Mass Divine Blast, Rejuvenation, Sunder and Disjoin, Supreme Initiative, Undead Qualities

Possessions: All Firahel has are twin scythes, each called Vainathmai. Both are considered Major Artifacts, and their means of destruction is only known to the creator (not Firahel). Firahel can summon them both to his hands as a free action, no matter how far away they are, no matter what plane they are on. Both are +50 Everdancing Speed Keen Chaotic Power Scythes.

A hulking giant stands before you, it’s huge frame covered by brown-black scales. This being has the basic shape of a human, if you ignore the 4 extra arms, the two extra legs, and the four giant black bat wings. Each arm ends in horridly sharp claws, and it’s hands drag across the ground. It’s slightly bigger than normal head has no eyes except for two indents were the eyes should be, and has a gigantic mouth that looks as if it could swallow two peaple whole and has rows upon rows of teeth.

These are creations in a mad sorcerers lab. Firahel was along with these in the experiments and they are helping him hunt down those responsible. The Iskkothar serve Firahel loyally, and answer any calls he sends.

Combat
The Iskkothar are completely combat based and have few abilities that are un-combat based. When surrounded by multiple opponents, they use their Massive swing ability to hit them all with each attack.
Abomination Traits: Immune to Polymorphing, Petrification, and other form-altering attacks; not subject to energy drain, ability drain, ability damage, or death from massive damage; immune to mind-affecting effects; Fire resistance 20; cold resistance 20; Non-detection; True seeing at will; Blindsight 500 ft.; telepathy out to 1000 ft.
Great Grapple: The Iskkothar can attempt to grapple any enemy up to 15 ft. away, and gains a +10 bonus to grapple checks and does not provoke attacks of opportunity. The Iskothar does not have to move into it’s enemy’s square when it grapples the enemy. Any creature of Medium or smaller size only take up one hand when grappled, so the Iskkothar can hold two medium or smaller creatures at one time. Creatures of Large to huge size take both hands to hold. The Iskkothar has a grapple check of 1d20 +111.
Immunities: Immune to Acid, Bludgeoning, Any form-altering attacks (such as Polymorphing and Petrification), energy drain, ability drain, ability damage, death from massive damage, mind-affecting effects.
Munch-Munch Swallow: If an Iskkothar begins it’s turn with a creature in it’s grapple, it can eat them. When something is in an Iskkothar’s mouth, it is still considered to be grappled but takes 16d6 +46 (2 bites) damage per round. It can choose to keep chewing the creature next round or swallow the immediately. If swallowed, a creature takes 10d12 acid damage per round and is caught in an inescapable grapple and may only use light weapons. If a creature manages to deal 65 damage to the stomach, they can escape through the hole before it heals up. The iskkothar can hold 2 medium, 4 small, 8 tiny, 16 diminutive, or 32 fine creatures in both it’s mouth and it’s stomach. If it’s stomach is full, the Iskkothar must wait for a creature (or creatures) to die (or escape) before swallowing anymore creatures.
Regeneration: Any weapon lawfully aligned or crafted by an innocent heart can deal normal damage to an Iskkothar.
Summon Fiend: The Iskkothar can summon any number of Chaotic Evil Outsiders as long as the sum of their challenge rating does not exceed the Iskothar’s challenge rating, and as long as all the summoned creature’s are either from, or allied with, the denizens of the abyss (a.k.a., Tanar’ri and any other Demon).
Trample: By moving up to twice it’s speed, an Iskkothar can trample an opponent, hitting with 1d4 of his slam attacks dealing 4d6 +68 damage against a medium or smaller opponent.

The 403rd layer of the Abyss
The 403rd layer of the abyss has been changed so much that it has the dead magic trait, which does function as the Anti-magic field and does not affect anything with a divine rank of 0 or more. There is a giant ruined castle somewhere in the scarred wasteland, where a being known as Firahel resides. This is one of the many realms where the dreaded Iskkothar stalk the many thousands of ruins.

Just some quick notes:

Epic Toughness gives 30 hp now, not 20 - this was updated or errataed, its in one of those two documents.

The total DR you have is 90/-. You show Epic Feats DRx10, so that gives DR 30/-. Where is the other 60 from?

You are not using any deity rules that I can see, despite giving DvR 20. There are lots of bonuses from that, including Natural Armor, Deflection, attack bonus, skill bonus.

Despite that, your attack bonus seems way out of whack. I see +100 (Outsider) +44 (87 epic fighter levels) +33 (STR) + 20 (Divine) = +197. Perhaps I am missing something in perusing only quickly.

Saves are +44, +36, +18 from stats, and +93 from HD, and +20 from Divine, giving +157, +149, +131 - again unless I am missing something.

No SR? Strange, though I see he lives in an AMF plane, so not much of an issue for non-epic spells. Of course as a DvR20 deity, he is not subject to auto-1 failure, so the only thing that can kill him magically is a massively mitigated epic spell with +157 or so to save DC (+314 Spellcraft DC).

There are some builds that can get 2000 damage off a smite or charge. I am sure that at 187HD, someone could come up with a nasty opponent. But I think some of the above numbers need to be rechecked.

The Spell resistance was turned into Spell Immunity after absorbing one of the 8 sacred saints (Campaign thing, also the player's fault.) The attack bonus is a bit right due to a magic tome that was meant for the weak pathetic player of the group (he never seemed to spend his several days of studying it like I suggested he do...), his +50 scythes and the spikes use dexterity. The 60 damage reduction was racial for the man, so that shouldn't be a problem, right? There seemed to be a few other things that seemed odd about his stats, but nothing I could seem to really figure out. Thank you also for pointing out the update for Epic Tougjness, I shall have to fix that.

As for the Divine Rank, I gave him the Salient Divine abilities along with all the abilities in the second chapter that he was allowed to get (which was a lot of them). Somehow, I'm still trying to figure out how my players always hang their characters when I hand them a 5 inch rope lol.

And whoops! I set my saves too low! I laugh at myself!

I've got a character I'm willing to pit against him, if you don't mind one that uses a bit of third-party stuff (ie, the Immortals Handbook).
Taeldrin Laesrash

05-02-07, 08:33 PM
If you were to use such things, I couldn't judge; I have no knowledge of the Immortals rules. If you were to actually put an Immortal together right and drag someone over who knows the rules, I guess it might be okay.

That would be fine with me I guess. I don't know that book in the least, but it might give some ideas to help my players kill this thing. Though you'd have to cope with not having the only metal that can harm him there abouts. It's kind of annoying when a player screws the whole party over, isn't it? However I could supply you with a bit of the metal if you ask nicely enough. :)

Since he's immune to subdual damage and I don't have a weapon made out of this special metal, does that mean he's totally immune to all damage? Or is all the damage I deal just subdual?
Geraturatu

05-03-07, 07:27 PM
I could give you a weapon of this metal however, like I said above. I could just say there was a bit left in the burning refuge of the lab. though how I would convince certain people that want things to be fair is beyond me, lol.

For game purposes, it has a +2 enhancement bonus to attack and damage/AC, it deals an extra 5d6 holy damage, and evil creatures in a 5 ft. radius make a Will save (38) or become paralyzed with pain and take 1d3 holy damge per round.

While it is powerful, this was a material for a epic game.

Here's my War Tarrasque (note that his attack bonus and damage will go slightly down if he uses a weapon other then Titan):

The titanic beast thundering through the arena door looks like the legendary tarrasque, except that it appears to be wearing a suit of massive armor and carrying a gigantic hammer in one clawed hand. As it stomps to a halt in the center of the arena ring, it scans the crowd with its beady black eyes and throws back its massive head and roars a challenge to the sky.

Possessions
________________________________________ _____________________

Augmented Critical (Ex): The tarrasque’s bite threatens a critical hit on a natural attack roll of 18-20, dealing triple damage on a successful critical hit.

Carapace (Ex): The tarrasque’s armorlike carapace is exceptionally tough and highly reflective, deflecting all rays, lines, cones, and even magic missile spells. There is a 30% chance of reflecting any such effect back at the caster; otherwise, it is merely negated. Check for reflection before rolling to overcome the creature’s spell resistance.

Dungeon Crasher (Ex): Grond gains a +4 competence bonus to AC and saves when attacked by traps. He also gains a +10 bonus on Strength checks to break a door, wall, or similar obstacle. In addition, whe making a bull rush, if he forces an opponent to move into a wall or other solid object he stops as normal. However, his momentum crushes him against it, dealing an amount of bludgeoning damage equal to 8d6 points + three times his strength bonus.

Exotic Sunder (Ex): When wielding a one-handed or two-handed exotic weapon, Grond deals an extra 1d6 points of damage on any successful sunder attempt.

Frightful Presence (Su): The tarrasque can inspire terror by charging or attacking. Affected creatures must succeed on a DC 43 Will save or become shaken, remaining in that condition as long as they remain with 60 feet of the tarrasque. The save DC is Charisma-based.

Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability, the tarrasque must hit a Huge or smaller opponent with its bite attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. If it wins the grapple check, it establishes a hold and can try to swallow the foe the following round.

Regeneration (Ex): No form of attack deals lethal damage to the tarrasque. The tarrasque regenerates even if it fails a saving throw against a disintegrate spell or a death effect. If the tarrasque fails its save against a spell or effect that would kill it instantly (such as those mentioned above), the spell or effect instead deals nonlethal damage equal to the creature’s full normal hit points +10 (or 868 hp). The tarrasque is immune to effects that produce incurable or bleeding wounds, such as mummy rot, a sword with the wounding special ability, or a clay golem’s cursed wound ability. The tarrasque can be slain only by raising its nonlethal damage total to its full normal hit points +10 (or 868 hit points) and using a wish or miracle spell to keep it dead. If the tarrasque loses a limb or body part, the lost portion regrows in 1d6 minutes (the detached piece dies and decays normally). The creature can reattach the severed member instantly by holding it to the stump.

Rush (Ex): Once per minute, the normally slow-moving tarrasque can move at a speed of 150 feet.

Skills: The tarrasque has a +8 racial bonus on Listen and Spot checks.

Strength Domain Abilities
Strength Shield (Ex): Grond is immune to any type of strength damage/draining.
Heroic (Ex): Grond gains a competence bonus on attack rolls, damage rolls, and armor class equal to his divine rank when fighting an opponent for whom strength is its highest score.
Strong Brethren (Su): Any creatures Grond summons gain a strength bonus equal to his divine rank.
Instrument of Strength (Su): Grond gains a Strength bonus equal to your divine rank.

Swallow Whole (Ex): The tarrasque can try to swallow a grabbed opponent of Huge or smaller size by making a successful grapple check. Once inside, the opponent takes 2d8+8 points of crushing damage plus 2d8+6 points of acid damage per round from the tarrasque’s digestive juices. A swallowed creature can cut its way out by dealing 50 points of damage to the tarrasque’s digestive tract (AC 25). Once the creature exits, muscular action closes the hole; another swallowed opponent must cut its own way out. The tarrasque’s gullet can hold 2 Huge, 8 Large, 32 Medium, 128 Small, or 512 Tiny or smaller creatures.

Uncanny Blow (Ex): When wielding a one-handed exotic weapon melee weapon in two hands, Grond deals extra damage equal to twice his strength bonus instead of 1-1/2 times his strength bonus.

Virtual Size Categories (Ex): Due to his immense strength, Grond is treated in some ways as if he were four sizes larger. He gains +16 Con, -8 Dex, and +34 Natural armor, His natural attacks base damage also increases four steps.

War Portfolio Abilities
Battle Ready (Ex): Grond can wear armor or carry a shield without penalty (as if he possessed the Heavy Armor Mastery and Shield Mastery feats).
Warrior Born (Ex): Grond gains a competence bonus equal to his divine rank on attack rolls, damage rolls and armor class while engaged in combat.
Brothers-at-Arms (Su): Any creatures Grond summons gain a competence bonus to their attack rolls equal to his divine rank.
Instrument of War (Ex): Damage Reduction is only 50% effective against Grond's attacks.

Taeldrin does have to approve of a dual before we start, so I guess I'll have to wait for him to give us approval.

So you've got something worked out? Go ahead. You have a map, or should I get something?

I don't have anything specific, so if you've got something handy, I'm open to it.

Nah, We're probably good. I get on rarely, so that could ge in the way. But I'll try to be on as often as possible.

05-04-07, 06:34 PM
The red sky looms far above you. The scream of the ground itself fills your ears. A cloaked figure stands before you, with two horridly red scythes in his hands. A voice comes into your head saying "Come on. This Should be lots of fun."

Hey Taeldrin, would this be considered on my plane, or what?
Frobojoe

Grond simply raises his massive hammer and slams in to the ground with a roar of challenge, creating a large crater at his feet.

OOC: Grond spends all his time in his Thicket of Blades stance.
Taeldrin Laesrash

So...I guess I'll get a map. Actually, just use the normal one (http://boards1.wizards.com/leaving.php?destination=http://www.colugo.org/jmcmurra/SRD/exodusMapsCrossroadsRiver.html). Frojoboe, start at X14. Geraturatu, start at B14. Take up additional space if necessary.
Frobojoe

05-05-07, 01:59 PM
OK, Grond currently fills squares X7-X21 to K7-K21 (or about 2/3rds of the arena). Firahel is currently within his reach.
Geraturatu

05-05-07, 05:22 PM
Do you have Supreme Initiative? If so, you'd go first since you have a DR of 30 I beleive?

Also, Taeldrin, would I get my Always Maxamize Roll ability? Or would you prefere me to roll it as normal?
Frobojoe

05-05-07, 06:25 PM
I have neither Supreme Initiative or a higher divine rank then you, so you go first. (Grond's DvR is actually 6.)
Taeldrin Laesrash

05-05-07, 06:29 PM
Also, Taeldrin, would I get my Always Maxamize Roll ability? Or would you prefere me to roll it as normal?

Firahel makes a simple gesture, and eight monstrous figures suddenly appear in front of Firahel. All eight figures seem to grin evilly with their maliscous teeth.

OOC: Firahel used his call Iskothar ability. I'll have the locations in a little bit.

Oh yeah, Frobojoe, somehow my mind is coming up with all sorts of cool scenes of the tarrasque stepping over the wall. Yet one thing that concerns me is, how you'd fit between the ground and the horizantal wall of force 40 feet in the air.

With another earth-shattering roar, the titanic beast swings him maul at the tiny figure before him, pulverizing him and all his minions with a series of blows that leave the very ground rent and torn.

OOC: Full attack.

Attack rolls are 1d20+261=281, 1d20+261=276, 1d20+261=280, 1d20+261=272, 1d20+261=266 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1024678). The first three crit, all five hit.

Damage is 1058628 for the crits and 88219 for the other hits (Invisible castle can't handle that large of numbers, I guess, so I took average damage).

Great Cleave will do the same thing to your Iskothar.
Geraturatu

05-06-07, 03:15 AM
Huh?
Geraturatu

05-06-07, 03:23 AM

05-06-07, 03:24 AM
Huh?

Did you have more actions?
Geraturatu

05-06-07, 03:26 AM

Well, you'd have to move up to me and win a grapple check first, I think. Unless you have some way to avoid it, that'll provoke at least one attack of opportunity (with predictable results). If you do make it to Grond, he gets a 1d20+231=236 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1024712) on his grapple check.
Geraturatu

05-06-07, 03:39 AM

Okay, so since you are now considered grappled, you cannot attack me since I'm moving out of your attack range ( I forget who said it, but it went along the lines of "I may be a coward, but I'm a greedy little coward") and I can still grapple you at 80 ft. so you won't be able to hit me, and you can't move towards me. (besides, even if you could hit me, there's a 70% chance you'd miss) And you can't use the hammer, only natural weapons (unless it's in the light or one-handed group, which I doubt).

If no one wants to fight that, (I understand anyways) I could always make a less screwed up monster that would be a bit fairer to fight. I actually feel like making something new :). But yeah, just whichever you want to fight (Firahel or un-uberpowered creature to be made), tell me please and we'll dual as soon as it's okayed by Taeldrin.

I'm up for a round. I have yet to play as a Great Red Wyrm, and anyone who feels like taking one on, let me know.
Far_Traveler

05-30-07, 05:44 PM
Dogma the Dreadnaught will be happy to! so long as the dragon either refrains from flight or allows me to select a flying magic item beforehand.

EDIT: alternatively, i could do a great wyrm gold against it.

EDIT2: yeah, I like the idea of great red vs. great gold. I'll start making the goldy now.

EDIT3: lets have the magical items be of 2,000,000gp value total, shall we? Lets call the rest of the hoard (8,000,000 gp worth) as the stakes, being just a bunch of shiny things. Also, as gold dragons have a CR up on reds, your dragon may have a single class level. seem fair?
Drake_the_Windseeker

so long as the dragon either refrains from flight or allows me to select a flying magic item beforehand.

That makes me laugh. On a more serious note, I agree with both of your terms. I shall start making my Red now. And you'll regret giving me that one class level... *snickerchuckles deep within his volcano lair*

Well, the thing is, Dogma was made under the assumption that no one would fly, a valid one because in the epic duels thread it is forbidden.

No, these are the MOCK epic duels, a thread specifically made to do duels not allowed on the normal epic duels thread.

Is your dragon thing going to be on anytime soon?

I had an idea for a duel here, but I'd have to wait my turn it seems.

Unless Taeldrin would DM two fights at the same time. Can you do that Taeldrin, or would you rather wait for one to be done before running the other?
Far_Traveler

06-01-07, 11:10 PM
Actually, my dragon was done the day the thing was proposed. I'll check it over one more time and post it.

EDIT: it's ready... but I'm a little worried. how about we PM the dragons to Taeldrin, and he can post the both of em at once. that okay Tal? Not that this is an insult to you drake, but It might be a bit too tempting to tailor.

Actually, I'd rather Taeldrin not post them at all. For each of us to simply PM them to Taeldrin will be enough. For either of us to be able to look at the other's stats would be a bit too close to metagaming for my own personal comfort. On another note, it will be a day or two before my Red is ready. I like taking the time to make sure he is made properly.

Alright, alright, the dragon thing is a go (And so interesting that I might try it). Drake's sent me his dragon, I need Far Traveler's, and I won't post either one.

I'll only be running one duel at a time here.

Also, I discussed the map with Drake over PMs, and we agreed that having the dragons fight in open sky with two peaks on opposite ends would be interesting. Sound okay? I'll start creating the exact map.

Taeldrin Laesrash

06-03-07, 11:21 AM
Alright, I'll commence the slaughter soon. Just two things are in the way, one of which is the map. Second, what does everyone think of this?

My idea of what to do with [the gold being bet on] is to perhaps do a succession of these duels, posted under a different thread (perhaps Dragon Duels or sommin’) and then the person who wins that duel will play against the next challenger, and gets the opponent’s gold to do with what he will. They could sell back their equipment for the last duel (at half price) if they wish to replace it with a stronger item. This could be an interesting Tournament of sorts. Perhaps they should also be awarded a level or at least some experience or sommin’. *shrug* I’m just spitballing at this point.
Drake_the_Windseeker

06-03-07, 11:27 AM
Well, I personally think that it's an amazing idea and that the person who thought of that idea should get a huge medal... because medals are shiny. Now, how do you join one of these? Plus, rules would be nice, as I have ten levels in a prestige class that's basically a noncrappy Mystic Theurge. My total character level is 46, and I have some interesting magic items as well...though well below the wealth value of my level.
Also, rulings on epic feats such as Improved Metamagic, Multispell, and the like would be helpful...it's kind of what I'm built to do.

Gah...I tried, and the map generator's no good for this sort of thing. I guess we'll have to make do with something else. Is it okay if your dragons start out flying?

You will fight on this map. Drake will start on X24-Z26, Far Traveler on A1-C3. Ignore the text about being on the astral plane, treat this as open sky. One square equals 10 feet. (http://www.colugo.org/jmcmurra/SRD/exodusMapsAstralVoid.html)

Flying over a vast distance, over mountains so high that snow covers their peaks, a massive dragon faced his opponent. Red scales peeked out from underneath a massive suit of black armor and shining items that brimmed with arcane power. As he readied for battle, he surveyed his opponent and grinned an arrogant, victorious grin filled with sharp fangs that were waiting to pierce the scales of his opponent.

After his grin, he moves his claws in a hypnotic pattern, and the scales showing from underneath his armor and magic items glistened with a shimmering light. He then flew towards his opponent, taking his time to revel in what he anticipated to be the slaughter of another opponent.

OOC: http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1086052 Barely missed beating the Arcane Spell Failure. Cast Scintillating Scales. Spellcraft to identify spell is DC 17. Mezzenbone flies forward only fifty feet, the closest portion of him being in square T-21

06-05-07, 05:52 PM
Okay, sorry about the wait, I left after 20 minutes (with every intention of returning) and fell asleep. (I was up all night)

I'm hovering and casting a spell: Maximised Time Stop!

Achiusk snorted, obviously his opponent didn't think much of him if he thought much of his elderitch might. After a few elaborate gestures, him being unimpeded by bulky armor, Everything Stopped.

5 rounds worth of actions:
Round 1: cast true seeing
Round 2: Cast Holy aura
Round 3: Cast Maximised spell turning
Round 4: Cast moment of prescience
Round 5: Cast Extended Greater Invisibility (and move to A24-C26)

Effects: Invisible, holy aura blindness shield, 10 spell levels of turning, now sees true, +19 on one attack, save, or check

Oh yes Drake, I have a greater arcane sight effect, so you probably should tell me all the active effects on you. I'll do the same if you have such an effect.

Edit: Oh yeah, I vanished Drake.

edit2: I find it amusing that when I cast time stop, I described some somatic components, but Time stop only has verbal components! Ha Ha!

OOC: Next time, you may want to list when (in character, of course) you go invisible and disappear. If there's something you don't want me to see, don't post it.

IC: Mezzenbone notices his quarry disappear. Hmmm, he thought to himself, he TRIED to do something smart. He immediately moves his hands in another arcane gesture and growls something in Draconic.

OOC: Casting Arcane Spellsurge. DC 18 to identify. Spell Failure Check: 59 http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1086734 Will last 20 rounds.

IC: Mezzenbone's body emanates green and yellow sparks for a brief period as the wind around him picks up for a moment. Almost immediately afterwards, he casts yet another spell, growling and moving his hands. He is suddenly granted the gift of foresight, and he grins as knowledge flows to his draconic brain.

OOC: Cast Foresight as a swift action. DC: 24 to identify. Foresight will last for 200 minutes.

Scintillating scales will last for 19 more rounds.
Far_Traveler

06-05-07, 07:57 PM
Where is arcane spellsurge? I'm not familiar with that.

Furthermore, Achiusk will cast his own foresight (I forgot I had it, all gold great wyrms do) on his action.

Seeing as we both have a foresight active, I suppose we could have thier predictive effects cancel out? Hmm?

IC: Achiusk Lets off a smirk: Thinks he can outwit me, can he? Calling upon the wisdom of over thirteen thousand years, makes a few guesses onto his next move.

I volunteer to take you on Avatar of Kokusho. However I'd prefer to lower the level to 30 ECL. I was going to propose a spell duel myself before the dragon fight started, but I would prefer if we stuck to 30 levels.

It would mean substantial re-work on your end, so let me know if your OK with it. Your in for some work either case for you need to list your epic spells, if any (and get approval) and your list of prepared spells.

If not I suppose I'd get in line for the next duel if anyone is willing to take me up on a spell duel. I propose a mage duel (essentially the flipside of the rules on the Epic Duels Thread, meaning the classes forbidden there are allowed here and vice versa).
Taeldrin Laesrash

Avatar, I have several questions about the stuff.

1. What's the Weavemaster? Where's it from?

2. What do the Staff of Raelana and Ring of Broken Wizardry do?

3. I think you may have too many feats. Could you recount?

Augustus, that's fine, the spell duel. Lowering the level would work out also. However, a permanent mage duel thread wouldn't really work. The threads would be cluttered by epic spell proposals, in addition to the hundreds of spells that would be available. Furthermore, magical fights don't tend to last long, you're just whipping out save-or-dies until someone rolls low. This is a mage duel. (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0456.html)

OOC: Where is arcane spellsurge?
"Dragon Magic."

Seeing as we both have a foresight active, I suppose we could have thier predictive effects cancel out? Hmm?
*le sigh* No imagination. And yes, I suppose I agree with you. I suspect it would have a similar effect that the pilots in "Gundam Wing" would have if both of them used the Zero System. However, I looked into Greater Arcane Sight, and you have not been taking into consideration its limited range. The battlefield is quite expanse, and that spell only allows you to identify magical effects within 120 feet of you, so you DON'T know what spell effects I'm under until you move that close to me. Another thing you may wish to consider is that while I'm sure you've taken adequate ranks in Spellcraft to adequately identify the spells I'm casting, you still are not rolling Spellcraft checks to identify them or not, so you acting to counteract my Foresight spell is metagaming a bit, is it not?

IC: Though Mezzenbone has lost track of his target, he is quite certain that the wyrm he faces will meet his doom. With more draconic growling and hand gesturing, primal power fills his body. A shower of sparks flies off of his shoulders, clinging to his arms and legs, and rings of blue-white energy travel from his feet to his head and back again, vanishing after completely encircling the great red wyrm in its glow. Mezzenbone then spends the rest of his time concentrating for a brief moment before the location of his enemy is revealed to him.

OOC: Cast Greater Arcane Fusion as a swift action, coming under the effects of Primal Instinct and Primal Speed. Both of these effects will last for 24 hours (or the end of this battle, as I do not see this battle being epic enough to last that long). Hey... this battle looks familiar... Super Sayan Red Wyrm 2, anyone? *snicker* Used the Spell-like ability Discern Location as a standard action, locating Achiusk.

1. It's a class our group came up with after we realized that mystic theurges get screwed...considering all the new dual casting classes nowadays actually get class abilities. Think Dweomerkeeper from the Forgotten Realms setting- with different requirements.
2. The Staff of Raelana doesn't do a whole lot, on the surface. It casts light at will, 3/day charm person and dimension door, 1/day temporal stasis and time stop. If broken (intentionally, rather like a staff of power) it allows the holder to go backward in time exactly 24 hours. Understandably, I really don't like the idea of using this ability- the staff is kind of precious to me :p The Ring of Broken Wizardry is basically a ring of wizardry 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 smashed into one. Boy, was I happy when I got THAT.
3. As for my feats, after our group reached epic levels, our DM ruled that we could wish for feats. After an experience with a deck of many things and my own wish spells, I ended up becoming a one-woman demolition team. He figured that if I wanted to burn 5,000xp on a feat, it's my prerogative and I'm just delaying my level growth for it.

As for reducing CR to 30, I suppose it could be done, but could I modify so I had the level [progression that would be optimal, or should I regress to how I was at 30th level?
Taeldrin Laesrash

06-06-07, 06:30 PM
Hmm. Interesting.

The staff is approved, however, if you go back in time, you'll effectively lose. The ring is okay, but I calculate that at several million GP, and you'll have to stick within the wealth limits.

I'll have to see the Weavemaster itself, prerequisites and all that. I imagine, though, that it's the Dweomerkeeper with a divine and arcane spell progression? If that's the case, I just need the prerequisites.

As far as reducing the character's level, feel free to rebuild or regress, your choice.
Avatar of Kokusho

06-06-07, 06:47 PM
Oh, I figured that going back in time definitely counts as leaving the field of battle, so that was a given. The prerequisites are:
Ability to cast 4th level arcane spells
Ability to cast 3rd level divine spells
Knowledge (arcana) 10 ranks
Knowledge (religion) 10 ranks
Patron Deity: Mystra, Azuth, or similar deity from other campaign settings
Domain: Knowledge

And yes, it gives progression through both arcane and divine...and basically gets many of the same class abilities.

On the ring: I know it's worth a ton, but it's probably one of the best things I have.
As for possible rebuilding, I could do that, but could take me a little while. A normal mage duel format would be best, so that things don't get plain silly. I've done this before in campaign, so I even deal with restrictions (last time, he limited me to two spells per round, and we obviously banned instant kill effects)

Achiusk Knew that he has been located, but it doesn't matter, for he is the Sky lord! Bolting towards his foe at a speed no Dragon should rightfulkly have, he sinks his teeth into his foe and flys off with a few scales and a gold coin or two dripping from his mouth.
By this, it sounds like you are making your character's decisions based on what I am doing, not based on what your character observes. Spell-like abilities take NO verbal or somatic components, and therefor, unless the effects are obvious, can't really be identified. You are metagaming up the wazoo, and I'd appreciate it if you'd stop NOW. Taeldrin, do I have a point or not? Another thing, with your move action, you wouldn't have come anywhere NEAR me enough to bite me, so no Flyby Attack for you. I'm still on the bottom half of the map, numbnuts.

Currently holding on duel while waiting for Taeldrin to read and make judgement.

By the way, Taeldrin, I forgot to add the size modifier to AC and attacks. Making the quick modifications now, and you know how to plug those in the copy of the character sheet I've got. Just a dumb mistake on my part. And how much you wanna bet Traveler here did the same thing?

Anyways, back to duel, going from where Traveler attempted an attack when I was nowhere near his range:

IC: After a reckless attack on Mezzenbone by the gold dragon, the great red wyrm decided to test his opponents defenses against his arcane might. He flew to the center of the agreed arena in order to get some distance between them. He kept him barely within the range of the magic item that allowed Mezzenbone to see his opponent. With a roar, he contorted his claws in a hypnotic pattern before aiming his foreclaw towards his opponent. A thin green ray sprung forth from the tip of his claw and raced towards his opponent.

OOC: Flew 100 ft. to squares M-14 through O-16. Achiusk is now within my area of seeing invisible creatures, due to Collar of Eyes. Mezzenbone casts Disintegrate on Achiusk as a swift action.

Excuse me, but these accusations seem to be going a bit far, don't you think?

Ah, I see now that the spell-like ability is the discern location, not the foresight. I was confused. Really, I was going to attack anyway, figured I'd insert some flavor text (a subject I am profoundly inexperienced in, My roleplaying skills are paltry at best), but I apparently made you angry.

Let me check the numbers real quick (about my move, I'm checking your position (R18-T21) last stated and the following, etc etc., and yes i know that each square is 10ft, it was accounted for)

Yeah, I can do that. I'm sure Taeldrin is aware of my fly speed (note this quote):

Bolting towards his foe at a speed no Dragon should rightfully have

That was a clue that My base speed is far beyond the palty 250ft. (admittedly, it was less clue then I should of given). You are presuming that you know my stats.

Furthermore, If it will appease you, I will now list my next 500 spellcraft checks:
http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1092911

Your taking this just a little too seriously, methinks.

And, if you can indeed see me before I get into melee range, you are permitted an attack of opportunity. should of stated so earlier. But my attack and location stand.

I apologize if my actions were unseemly. Furthermore, I apologize for my absense, computer issues, and I would appreciate it if you point out anything that I did not address.

Now, what was your move again?

OOC: Excuse me, but these accusations seem to be going a bit far, don't you think?
If I thought so, I wouldn't have brought it up. Perhaps I take things more seriously than others, but I also think, yes, though it may be silly to make some checks at epic levels, a random automatic botch makes all the difference. I don't just do these battles to feel the success of victory, but also for the joy of roleplaying, so I enjoy when both players are ACTING in-character rather than just "OMG, my b@rb@r1an just pwned yous! LOl!!1!"

Let me check the numbers real quick (about my move, I'm checking your position (R18-T21) last stated and the following, etc etc., and yes i know that each square is 10ft, it was accounted for)

Actually, my position was T21-V23. To quote myself: "Mezzenbone flies forward only fifty feet, the closest portion of him being in square T-21." Secondly, you can not make a move action after an attack action, as per the feat Flyby Attack. Unless there's something I don't know.

Attack of Opportunity: Claws: To Hit - 77 http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1093035
Damage: 34 http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1093038

Aforementioned action already taken by Mezzenbone. You're up to bat, Traveler.

I assumed when you said the closest portion of you It meant relative to my starting position (where I was at the time), but that position makes it even easier!

Notes: Flyby attack allows you to inturrupt your 1 move action (which I took) with a standard action (also took), and then continue the move action (which I did). The angle change was due to a wingover.

Now, on to my relevant rolls:

Fortitude save: http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1093652

sucess!

Damage taken:

Me: 56
You: 65

Note: I just read the robe of eyes, and I just noticed that it doesn't function exactly like true seeing. I'm afraid you have to roll for my displacement. Unless you have something else that will circumvent it.

My action:

Achiusk Pondered exactly how the Red knew could see him, but it was of no consequense. He Decided to show him just how Bahamut blessed his creations better then Tiamat.

Move action: Move to G14-I16, Use breath weapon: Cone of Weakening Gas.

Make a DC 49 fortitude save or take 12 points of strength damage.

Edit: Wait, forgot to roll spell resistance for prayer.

As for reducing CR to 30, I suppose it could be done, but could I modify so I had the level [progression that would be optimal, or should I regress to how I was at 30th level?

Sorry, I've been pulled away by RL matters...

Go ahead and use the optimal progression. What I'm really looking after is that we use some sort of common wealth and XP level as an equalizer. You have the stats for your character from play, but I'd have to work mine out from scratch, so I need to know how much GP and XP to have in order to be on the level playing field. Can we agree to start with 460k XP (that's 25k above the 30st lvl cap) and 4,3 million gp.

And Taeldrin, thanks for OKing the match. I've heard this argument about high level spellduels but I've never been on a real one and would still like to try it out.

Just a minor point but:
a random automatic botch makes all the difference.
Skill checks do not fail on a natural 1. Therefore, with a modifier of +45, there really is no need to roll for Spellcraft. Most uses of non-opposed skill checks, such as Tumble, are automatic at Epic levels.

IC: Mezzenbone slashes out at the attacking wyrm, getting greatly irritated as the golden dragon attempts to rake his teeth along his scales. Like a fly in ointment, the dragon muses to himself. Achiusk had not hit him with his latest mobile assault. Mezzenbone decided to show him how to do this properly. He swiftly cast another spell, growling and moving his claws about, choosing to enhance his spearlike claws. He then bulleted towards Achiusk, attempting to bite the damned wyrm with his fangs. As he opened his mouth, the gleam of metal lining the inside of his mouth was caught on the sunlight.

Cool, I'll need some time to work up my character as well (I'm thinking a week, but it could realistically be more).

I'd say we PM the sheets to Taeldrin like Far_Traveler and Drake_W. did, that way we make sure no metagaming is going on (I assume that's OK by you Taeldrin). On the other hand I can do open sheets / honor system as well, let me know what you prefer.
Avatar of Kokusho

06-10-07, 11:07 PM
Either way works for me; though it would be a bit more realistic if we didn't have access to each other's capabilities. I understand the honor system, but I think it would make both of us consider our actions a bit more carefully.
Taeldrin Laesrash

06-11-07, 09:55 AM
I'd like the sheets, preferably in a single PM. You two can still act off the honor system, but I need oversight here. As far as wealth and XP go, we'll do it with normal wealth by level (4,300,000 gp, thank you Augustus); as far as XP goes, I'll put you at 450,000 XP, halfway to 31st level with 15,000 XP to spare.

The XP can be spent on item creation (If you make your own items, they're only half as expensive), or one of those fancy rituals, or spells (Kokusho, I may not have made this clear, but I'm not letting feats be obtained with Wish).
Avatar of Kokusho

That's fine. I don't do a whole lot of item creation, myself- for the good stuff, it would take me about a zillion years. In campaign, that's what the other wizard's for...anyway, I should have something for submission with the next week.

Well, only two hit really, as Dire charge only works in the first round of combat, not anytime you want. Normally I would of assumed you had some other method, but this is not the case. in addition, you only rolled 2 attacks for full attack, instead of the 6 you would normally be entitled to.

IC: Mezzenbone, for the first time in his life, is in agony. He has never felt pain of this magnitude in his life as far back as... well, as far back as he chooses to remember. He thinks for an instant of his recent additions to his collection of scars before a strategic move falls into place in his mind. A victorious grin spreads across his face as he takes a moment to stop his offensive in order to gain the upper hand. He wove two spells together in his mind and cast them as quickly as he could. He could now see through the illusions of his opponent, and a web of force worked to wrap itself around the gold wyrm's wings. Mezzenbone waved good-bye before taking a farewell bite out of his opponent.

OOC: Casting defensively, Mezzenbone casts Greater Arcane Fusion as a swift action (I don't bother making the Concentration check to casting defensively, because I have a +33 to that skill, and I've been made aware that I can't botch that kind of roll). IC: Though one of Achiusk's hits did not hit nearly as hard as the gold wyrm thought, Mezzenbone was getting desperate. He knew he had not much life within his scales left. He hastily cast another duo of spells to impede the gold wyrm's attacks. Golden light bathed him with yellow flecks and healed him of some of his wounds. An invisible tangible field of force surrounded him, adding to his already potent defenses. He then flew to get out of the area he was in, sensing the danger in staying in one place.

My main focus was melee combat, with my spells being mostly buffs. I ddin't get any metabreath feats (shame too, would of liked getting quicken breath), but I did get Hover, Improved Flight, Wingover, Fly-by attack, and improved Multiattack.

With my magic Items and persistant buffs, I ended up with a +71 attack, a +85 grapple, a 69 AC, +33 damage bonus from strength/amulet (wait, the persistant prayer... shoulda had another +1...), and even if I was dispelled, I could recast them With a time stop.

Lets see, My persistant spells were: Death Ward, Shield of Faith, Shield, Displacement, Greater heroism (a great buff), Prayer, Greater Arcane Sight, Righteous Might (admittedly a dubious use, but I just ended up using the stat buffs only, I forgot about my damage reduction/evil), and just for laughs, find traps.

Oh, and I had Greaves of Swiftness to double my speeds, so I have 500 (poor) fly speed.

Well, I was going to create a new character, but it turns out I won't have time for that. Instead I'll take a pre-existing 30th lvl character of mine and tweak it for the duel. I should have this ready during the weekend.

Also, can we agree on a few ground rules? We start unbuffed except for permanent spells and must respect the 1 round for buffing (i.e. we can't attack each other on the first round). Teleporting or otherwise fleeing the arena means you concede the fight.

If there's anything you want to propose let me know Kokusho. I'd also prefer if we not use custom items but if you've already factored them in I suppose we can go with that. Let me know.

I just PM'ed in my sheet. The beginning ground rules sound fine to me- and I have no permanent spells O_O but I'll live anyway :p What I basically did is took my existing character, dropped her down to 30th level, and went from there.
As for custom items, I have only one, and if I use its best ability, I autolose anyway. Considering it's a weapon (If I have to go melee, ew) and its other abilities USUALLY aren't game breaking I hope you won't mind?
As for rules on teleport: as long as you stay within the confines of the arena, I'm assuming it's fine, correct? Also, are we going for the traditional mage duel format, where we each get a counterspell action per round, and the dismissable spell effects and all that? I'm only familiar with the FR mageduel rules, as that's the setting I use most often.
Taeldrin Laesrash

FR mageduels? Where can I find that? I'm using the counterspell rules and such from the SRD. Oh, and yes, you can teleport within the arena.

As far as custom items go, they've always been allowed here. Kukosho's custom item can use a few spells a very limited number of times per day. (Just so we know there's no foul play. I haven't given away too much, have I?)

Nope, sure haven't. It's actually quite limited. The reason it's so good is its one-shot ability, which I've already said is an autoloss for me.
I found the FR mageduel rules in the Player's Guide to Faerun. They're quite well-laid out, with different rules for SoD spells and the like, and options for nonlethal damage and such.

TL, there are also mage-duel rules in Comp. Arc.

So be it. You're playing at 45th level?

Actually, there isn't much to say about the Elven High Mage. If we're both talking about the PrC from Races of Faerun, then we're talking about a class that revolves around cheaper Epic Spells. I haven't defined their use in these duels, so I don't know how much you'll get from that.

Bluetooth, I know this may sound stupid after saying all that about the EHM, but I'll take you on in a mage-duel; 30th level. Sound okay?

Avalon, thanks for the duel rules. I read them over. Non-lethal duels are so boring...

Kokusho, could you send me some of the PGtF duel spell-duel rules? Just an outline to avoid trouble.

so you're going to be ECL 30 and I'm going to be ECL 45?

and do I need to post my character sheet somewhere?

EDIT: Also, how many of the FR mage-duel rules will we be following? Ring outs part of it or do we just slug away at each other until someone dies?

I meant that we'd both be ECL 30. It's not absolutely necessary, but it's a lot easier than 45. Normally, I'd say to PM me the sheet, but maybe we'll just post them when it's our turn (After Augustus and Kokusho). I still have to see the mage-duel rules before I determine what to use.

Augustus, have you sent me your dueler yet?

Guys I'm sorry but I haven't had the time to finish my dueler. I was going to work off a lvl 30 character I already had but it turns out he would need more tweaking than I anticipated and I have some pressing RL issues that I can't avoid atm.

Tell you what if that's OK with everyone let bluetooth build his dueler and he can fight Avatar of Kokusho. Then I can take on the winner (or the looser, doesnt much matter to me) of this duel.

If bluetooth is not interested I can still try to finish my character, but it would take a few more days... Sorry again.:(
Avatar of Kokusho

06-19-07, 03:59 PM
The only issue I see with that is the fact that his duelist is ECL 45. Now, I would further modify mine to be equal, as I posted on this thread one that was 47th. Of couse, that would need a bit of modification, but I'd have most of my nice items again...

My offers are still up. Absorption won't be used unless it's a situation like seen in our dual. My new creature waits for creation once I've agreed with someone what level and what type is aimed for. Oh, and I'm not making a humanoid type, I'd prefer to stick with interesting monsters.

07-08-07, 12:58 AM
Well, if anyone wants to make another great wyrm dragon and pit it against my gold wyrm from last duel have at it

I humbly request, however, that you use one of the stronger dragon types.

Details:

3 million gold

advance dragon to 41 hit dice (i know I'm going to regret that)
Taeldrin Laesrash

07-08-07, 11:09 AM
Maybe I'll make something. I had the idea of a Young Adult Prismatic Dragon with a single class level. Sound okay?
Far_Traveler

07-08-07, 11:49 PM
I don't think that would be appropriate, seeing as how the CR difference is apprximately 7 on the BASE dragon. Now, I would be more inclined to accept if you were a Juvinille Dragon without a class level... But even then it seems that I would be at a disadvantage.

Far_Traveler

07-29-07, 12:37 AM
*shrug* guess not. I don't really like the Mock epic duels really. Now maybe if we did a duel suited for the normal Duels thread here that would be okay by me.

Dogma wants to break his winning streak anyway. (that time in the free for all doesn't count. Too many iffy things being thrown around and I'm better off anyway. that duel is a nightmare.)
Taeldrin Laesrash

07-29-07, 01:05 AM
I agree, the multi-person duel has been nothing but a drag. Say, FT, did we ever do that proposed caster-warrior fight? Dogma could face down a mage or something.
Far_Traveler

07-30-07, 09:20 AM
I could do that, but as proposed I bet I could do it with a 10 level advantage. An even-level fight would be a slaughter. Of course, I would have to adjust Dogma for flight.

Didn't someone have a ring of solar flight or some such? had a 150fly(perfect) or something like that. How much did that cost?
Taeldrin Laesrash

07-30-07, 10:13 AM
It was 59,000 gp. Of course, we could just do away with flight like normal, since it's so confusing.

My offer to create any type of creature for a fight still stands (and so does the one with the big F, but I don't really want to bother since that was abandoned after him killing the party a third time).
Augustus1

08-15-07, 05:33 PM
OK, things are slowly getting back to normal for me, I think I can get back to work on a contestant for the spell duel. Is Avatar of Kokusho still around? He was the first one on the line I guess. If not I suppose I could take Dogma with a 10 levels advantage, I bet that would be an interesting fight.
Taeldrin Laesrash

08-15-07, 09:03 PM
Good to see you. Should I drop Avatar a PM? Otherwise, I'll certainly set you up with Dogma.

LordBOB777

08-20-07, 06:31 PM
so let me get this straight, a figher type character will have an extra 10 lvls over a mage type character?

That should be VERY interesting.

If only i hadnt been out of the loop for so long, i might of given this a try.

I couldnt imagine my banned creation with an extra 10 lvls to play around with.
Far_Traveler

08-21-07, 01:29 PM
Yes, that's the jist of it. Can even an epic fighter make a mage fall? I would think yes, due to increased saving throws, mobility, magic item accessibility... I would think that Dogma is especialy suited to take down a mage personally, but that's just me.
Augustus1

08-21-07, 01:33 PM
I think the 10 levels give a clear advantage to the fighter. Unless you rule that the equipment for both combatants is the same (i.e. lvl 30th wealth). Even then I'd say the match is more than a little tilted towards the fighter. But we'll see...

I need a few more days to work on the character...
Taeldrin Laesrash

08-21-07, 02:29 PM
Fine by me. I eagerly anticipate the match. However, I do rule that the mage gets 30th level wealth. I'm not sure how much of an advantage it'll give you, but I feel like doing it anyway.
LordBOB777

08-21-07, 02:46 PM
is epic spell casting allowed?
rob_douglas

08-21-07, 05:12 PM
Depends how he does the levels - if it is Augustus at 20th, Dogma at 30th, both with 30th level equipment - then no. ;)

Is it instead Augustus at 30th, Dogma at 40th? And are they both using 30th or 40th gear?

Epic spellcasting has its own problems - unrestrained, you could just make unlimited caster level and save DCs. Still have to be careful, but it is a bit silly. As long as TL approves the spells - it will show what it shows.

08-21-07, 05:29 PM
I was under the impression that it was 20th level vs. 30th level. So no epic magic here. If I'm wrong, and it's 30th level vs. 40th level, then you'll get one free Epic spell from the feat (A house rule of mine), and any others that go against your gp and XP limit.
Augustus1

08-21-07, 06:08 PM
It would be 30th and 40th, I believe. I was pushing for us to both use lvl 30th gear, which Taeldrin approved (I think).

Also, since we are using the Epic Duel thread guidelines as a starting point, I suppose I should make sure this is approved: the limitation on no outside help is lifted, right? Familiars, Cohorts, Summoned Creatures, everything goes, right?

As for Epic Spells, I would certainly have Taeldrin approve them before using, and I would not waste his time with anything that is obviously broken.
Taeldrin Laesrash

08-21-07, 08:49 PM
Oh...Well, gear is part of what gives a character their level of power. The lower-level equipment hurts a fighter far more than a mage. Pardon me, but I'm now telling you to use level-appropirate wealth.

Yes, summoned help and similar things can be used here. No idea why you'd want to send your familiar up against Dogma, though.
Far_Traveler

08-21-07, 09:14 PM
Woah! No, the original idea was Dogma, unchanged from the normal epic duel thread (at 30th level) went up against a 20th level mage. I will not deviate from the basic concept: Can a 20th level caster fell a 30th level melee?

And then, just for fun, we can level up the mage and try again, and again, and again at higher and higher levels, until the mage wins (and when he wins, have 2 rematches to see if it was just a fluke)

EDIT: also, doesn't frenzied berserker get supreme cleave? it might be important.
Taeldrin Laesrash

08-21-07, 09:57 PM
What? Oy...Reach an agreement, you two. What levels?
rob_douglas

08-22-07, 12:12 AM
So have we agreed on anything yet?

lvl 20 mage vs lvl 30 fighter, or lvl 30 mage vs lvl 40 fighter?

Either way, i think each battler should get the same amount of $$$$$

If you let the lvl 30 fighter have 4.3 million, yet the mage only $720,000 , the fighter could pretty much sink that money into items to up your saves, get evasion, elemental immunity, fly, teleporting, ect...

My point is, the mage should have a real run for his money
Augustus1

08-22-07, 09:26 AM
Lol, I can see where the confusion is: Far Traveler initially proposed the duel and suggested a 10 level advantage for the fighter. I immediately assumed he would get 10 levels on top of 30 where he was thinking I'd get 10 levels less than 30.

Hrum. OK, your terms are accepted <scraps current concept and prepares to start over>, as long as the wealth level is the same for both combatants, i.e. lvl 30th wealth or lvl 20th wealth, your choice.

EDIT: do we assume both characters start with no pre-buffs, correct? And the "preparation" round rule in effect?
rob_douglas

08-22-07, 11:17 AM
I would think that each would be allowed his "daily buffs". I mean, if the Wizard casts Foresight every day, or the fighter consumes a Heroes' Feast every day, why would "today" be any different?

ROB
Taeldrin Laesrash

08-22-07, 11:23 AM
So yeah, 20 v. 30, equal wealth. No pre-buffs except for the paying for a Heroes' Feast effect.
Augustus1

08-30-07, 07:44 PM
I had an idea!:lightbulb

That's all for now. :)

I spent half the time busy with work and the other half trying to come up with a concept that would stand even a remote chance. I think I did now. We'll see.
