| e7way02-27-07, 03:28 PM | looking for DM'ins opinion on magic items for epic characters. How many should you have? and at what levels? who will make them for you? and where do epic characters find that amount of gold to make them? are some of the questions we are having. We just started epic levels and one of our DM's says that we MIGHT be able to afford 2 epic items by 30th level. Why isn't congruent compared to lower levels? How do you other DM's rule in your campaigns? And what kind of treasure do you dole out at 21st - 30th levels? Thanks for you time and feedback :) jay |

I'm not sure how many you should have. Perhaps a few, though certainly not many. Epic Pricing is an incredible drain on your wealth. I recommend you get a lot of non-epic bonuses before you get epic ones. |

In many ways, the DM gains a lot more control over magic again - much as a 1st level campaign often has. Based on wealth figures, there should only be a couple of items in the whole party at 24th level or so, and a couple each by 30th. That makes them very valuable, and something the DM can create adventures around the finding/creation of. ROB |
