What kind of fighter are you? Different fighter types call for different prestige classes and feats.

When asking for help, it is ALWAYS a good idea to post as much information about your character as possible. Are you fighter 20 or maybe Fighter 4/ Barbarian 4/Wizard6/XYZ 6 ?

Also tell us what you want to do with your character. As a fighter you could just want to soak up damage. Or maybe you want to trip/sunder/disarm/grapple things. Lots of Damage? Insane AC?

The more info you give us the better

Are there any house rules your DM has going?
What level will you be at/going to end up at?
What books are available for you to use?

What is the rest of your party.....so we might get an idea of what can already be done and so we dont repeat another character.

Take this into consideration when asking for help.

I know that if you go anywhere else and just ask for help you will get so much FLAME you will burn to death. I would like to think that the members of the Epic boards have a little more class/manners than the fine and talented people on the CO boards. Im not calling them easily angered people((ok well maybe a few)) its just that they take a lot of this and i can see how they could get P.O.ed real quick

**note to self......i hope Pheonix doesnt read this...he may eat me **

Sorry to hear your DM is being such a PITA, because it is really important at Epic to plan characters out of game. The DM can't really effectively provide a good gaming experience if he treats it as a me against you thing where you independently design characters. But I digress....

At level 21, 3 things happen. You no longer get bonus to BAB based on whatever class you took. You get a +1 Epic Attack Bonus that counts as BAB, except for not allowing iterative attacks. If you are a Fighter 20, then effectively all this does is give you +1 to hit, keeping you at 4 attacks. At 22nd level you will NOT get an EAB, but will get one every odd level.

Second, you do NOT get any bonuses to your saves from whatever class you choose. You will get a +1 Epic Save bonus at 22nd and every even level thereafter to all 3 saves.

Third, you get to choose your first Epic Feat! Lots of good choices, but for a fighter, Epic Weapon Focus is probably the most likely at this point - it gives you +2 more to hit. Epic Weapon Specialization is a good next choice (which you would get at 22nd level if all you are is a fighter).

Epic character planning is tough, and needs to be done with help. You need a concept, and then you can plan for feats and prestige classes that will help you fit into that concept. Let us know more what you want, and people here will be glad to help.

A few things to keep in mind..... dont worry so much about elemental damage. You will find that being immune/resistant at epic level is pretty easy.

Dont worry about crits. Things tend to be immune or have ways to get around it.

Fly, Freedom of Movement, Teleport( or other forms) are all good spells to have access to.

Also Direct Damage isnt always the best way to go. There should always be other ways to deal with your problems.

Epic Level can get to be pretty intimidating.. I've gotten in the habit of planning my characters out 30 levels in advance. :shifty:

I do like the plethora of Feats that Fighters get, since it gives them a fair amount of options for customization (which is making my Barbarian jealous).

Your barbarian shouldn't be jealous- not with access to Terrifying/Chaotic Rage.

That said, there are a zillion feats for a fighter available, most of which are really nice. It all depends on your focus- damage, defense, tricks...

Well, here's (http://dmreference.com/SRD/Epic/Class_Progressions/Epic_Fighter.htm) the Epic Fighter from the SRD. And I probably wouldn't worry too much about magic unless you plan on giving him some other class to play around with.
