Sortly after just getting into my epic campaign, my party ended up running into a most terrible fate... they got involeved in Politics

first I figured it wouldn't be bad, I'ld let them take over a city and get it out of their system and we'ld go back to adventuring agein, only it seems they all seem obsessed with the bureaucracy of the city and we now spend our time managing taxes, aranging public events, and genural micromanagement...

during all this I usually find myself just sitting around in the house we aqured not doing much of anything :allalone:
I miss Dragon Hunting...

Unless their sole motivation is to be in absolute control of every single aspect of the city, being involved with politics isn't such a bad thing in epic. Granted when I think epic politics, it consists of making trade deals with the heavens and hells, aiding gods in their extraplanar battles, Creating a new empire across the material plane.

Also, now that the pc's have settled down, villans can take advantage of their idleness and go nuts, so to speak. But as you said they are micromanaging which can be interesting for 1-2 sessions, but people in charge of a city have followers and assistants to handle that kind of minutia. Considering their power and influence, they probably should just be tasked with the critical happenings of the city.
