| Zalakhiel03-17-07, 07:01 AM | I want to create an epic spell for a wizard. The spell allows him to conjure 5 swords composed of a purely destructive impulse that float around him, and by commanding them, they strike enemies for 20d6 each. The spell should need only one round of casting, but... I have trouble with the factors and the final Spellcraft DC. I believe that the Conjure and Destroy seeds are the ones I need, but what do you think? |

| Arturius103-17-07, 01:48 PM | Could you be more detailed? Do these swords actually make attack rolls or are they there to look cool? By "one round" do you mean it takes a standard action like most spells or a full-round action? Also, how long do you want these swords to remain? |
| Zalakhiel03-17-07, 07:33 PM | Like the conjure seed says, they remain for up to 8 hours or until they hit a target via a ranged touch attack. Spell Resistance applies for each sword and a Fort Save reduces the damege to 3d6+30 (Save for each sword seperately). A full-round action would be ok for the casting time, but I do not want to use any mitigating factors at all. Would it be easy for a lvl 33 Wizard with 40 Intelligence, max ranks in Spellcraft and Epic Skill Focus (Spellcraft) to cast this spell? |
| DeathXI03-17-07, 08:00 PM | Seems more like Summoning to me, if anything. Mordekain's Sword is similiar to what you want and is only evocation though, so maybe just some ad-hoc factors onto the Destroy seed will do what you want. |
