| Lakaniss03-08-08, 07:04 PM | I havnt found that question in the FAQ, but it probly had been posted many time. If I have a BA of 19 and gain 1 Epic BA, do I get my fifth attack or I will forever be stuck at 4 ? |
| DragonBringerX03-09-08, 02:49 PM | you never get 5 attacks...ever. Unless your a monk who does a flurry of blows or a +16Bab who either has rapid shot (while fireing a bow of course), a speed weapon, or the spell haste on you while making a full-attack action. [Of course many two-weapon fighting combination give you 5 attacks, but thats different.] Also, even if by some house rule or what have you, you still wouldn't get a 5th attack with epic base attack bonus. As it states in the errata and book, epic bab progression dosnt count for gaining more attacks...so an epic wizard will always have 2 attacks an epic rouge will always have 3 attacks an epic fighter will always have 4 attacks now, for a solution...there are multipule ways to get 5 attacks or more (as stated above) but heres a couple of other solutions to gain that 5th attack. You could take the heroic surge feat (d20 Modern), or you could play iron heros, or you could play a archer build character with epic many shot (now granted, this doesnt actually give you 5 attacks, but you fire 5 or more arrows, play an arcane archer (notice the archer builds here), or as a dm you could house rule that epic attack bonus progress does count for multipule attacks, however (never more than 4 base). Now this last solution is a little bit broken so I have it as a personal house rule that your base attack is the best combination of 20 levels in classes you may have...this eleminates the confusion about the difference b/w 20 wizard/20 fighter or 20 fighter/20 wizard difference. As a side note, epic rules can be a bit unwieldy at times, and not all of them are balanced (never got a full over haul to 3.5). So, with that said you are going to HAVE to house rule quite a bit when it comes to epic play...another words you cant play cannon (as rules writen).
