this is most likley on the wrong board, i know but you guys would be the best to ask.

im doing a quick campaign (lasting 1 or 2 nights) with high level characters. they will be level 18.

they have no gear or weapons or money. i just need to know how much money is a good price to let them all start with.

Check page 135 of your DMG. I think it's around 450.000gp

I'm going to do some resurection rather than make a new thread.

Is there an actual formula for figureing out starting money past 40th level? Cuz I wrote out the amount for 22 - 40, and how much it increases each level and there is no pattern to it. Neither does it yield to something like square your level and multiply by x amount type of things. At least that I can find.

Or do you just kinda make it up as you go along? I can just put my own pattern in, but was curious if there was an official one somewhere.

Check out the FAQ sticked at the top of the threads page. IIRC on page 1 or 2 there's a post by Rob_Douglas with suggested formulas for PC and NPC wealth, in addition to a list of wealth for both up to level 80 or so.
