| Starmage2108-27-07, 02:10 AM | This problem exists because of the wording of Time Stop, rather than the SR/Magic Immunity system in general. When someone casts Time Stop, they get extra actions that cant affect anything outside of Time Stop's radius. Time Stop doesnt actually stop time, thats just the way it appears to the caster, but rather just speeds the caster up a bunch. So its a buff of the caster, not a debuff of the people within the radius. ^the above is the way the spell shouldve been worded, and wouldve cured all the SR problems. I also believe this to be the intended effect, after the spell was carried over from 2nd Edition AD&D. An intelligent ruling says that if someone has Spell Stowaway: Time Stop, and Time Stop is cast within the radius dictacted by the feat Spell Stowaway, the character receives the benefit of Time Stop, and can use his 1d4+1 extra rounds. Alternatively, you could rule that the character with Spell Stowaway: Time Stop would receive the same benefit as the caster, and thus be active with the caster at the same time. Under the spell's logic, the two are in the same phase and would be able to engage each other at-will. Time Stop is not usually a spell that is used to layer 1d4+1 rounds worth of Delayed Blast Fireballs on an unsuspecting DM's pet creations, or on the PCs. Personally, my BBEGs tend to use it when the players have maneuvered so well that I think he should be completely unprepared for their arrival. BBEG drops a Time Stop spell and buffs up to prepare for the fight, or uses it the extra time to escape. Hope this helps :D |

| Gemstone08-27-07, 10:39 AM | Wait? What exactly is the problem with timestop here? As I see it, the only problem is if the "storeawayed" gets to act togheter with the caster or not... am I missing something? |
| BillTheManiac08-27-07, 12:04 PM | Time Stop has no duration, otherwise it could be persisted. Can't be dispelled. |
