The Afflict seed [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-20-07, 12:31 PM In the ELH, the afflict seed, unlike all the others, has a base casting time of 1 standard action. This is not changed in the SRD. Is this a mistake or not?

07-20-07, 04:44 PM IN which version of the SRD was this updated. I have a copy that still has the 1 standard Action casting Time. d20srd.org has taken some liberties in "editing" the SRD as they believe it should be, but was not actually sent out from Wizards.

The real question is, was it a mistake then, or now? It is weird that it is the only one that is 1 action, all the others are 1 minute, so likely it is supposed to be 1 minute as well. I have my own preference for moving a few of the attack seeds to 1 action - energy, destroy, slay, compel, and afflict - mostly to balance them with the effects of buffs that are not hampered by longer casting times....

07-21-07, 07:26 AM It should be 1 minute, like all the other seeds. That would be the intent of the designers.

Like Rob, I'm not too sure the 1-minute base casting time for all seeds is a good thing, but the logical RAW would be 1 minute.
