07-01-07, 08:21 AM I was considering what the "Maiar" from LoTR would be in d20 system. Are they Demi-gods of magic? Has anyone ever stated them for 3.5? Anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you for your help.

07-01-07, 09:07 AM I'd use Solars, likely. Some more advanced than others, with the most powerful ones having DvR 0.

07-02-07, 11:42 AM I don't beleive the Maiar necessarily had any associations with any particular areas. That is, not all Maiar were "Demi-gods of Magic." Sauron was a Maiar and I don't think he was necessarily a wizard like Gandalf or Saruman.

I like the DR0 Solar idea though.

07-02-07, 03:08 PM The Maia was powerful spirits that was created before the world and later ventured down upon it and took shapes and forms that were consistant with their own belief and morality. The evil ones became Balrogs and the good ones became other forms, such as the wizards.

I would probably treat them as a high level outsider
