Now, I realize that I posted this in the regular Magic and Spells forum. I'm not trying to clutter up a million forums with the same question, but somehow I think that since I mentioned the words "epic spell", that will send people running from my post.

I have a question regarding the Transform seed. In my mind, it's basically Polymorph at its base DC. Of course, different mitigating factors can be applied, including one to gain extraordinary or supernatural abilities of your new form.

1- Can you use that same mitigating factor to remove Ex and Su abilities from a creature?

2- The example given in the description gives a +5 DC adjustment for changing the creature's type from undead to outsider. Will an undead creature affected by the Transform seed lose undead traits and become vulnerable to things it didn't have to worry about before? What about abominations, providing that you ad hoc the DC to make it affect creatures normally immune?

Now, I do realize that a lot of this is up to the particular DM, but before I try to make a case for this spell I'd like some input on whther or not other experienced players or DMs would allow something to work in this way.

Thanks in advance :)

The first affect you listed, removing the immunities from undead, should almost certainly be allowed. Heck, the spell compendium has the spell spark of life which removes undead immunities for a short period of time as a 3rd level spell.

You'll run into problems with the second effect, because the immunities of an abomination stem from divine rank (they effectively have divine rank 0, even though this is not listed in the ELH). Many DM's consider immunities that stem from divine rank to be sacrosanct. As for me, I'd allow you to create a spell that nullfied such immunities for a short period of time with a hefty ad hoc modifier, but most DM's would probably balk at such a spell. If your DM uses dicefreaks rules for gods and cosmic entities, perhaps a spell could be created that would allow you to make divine rank checks as if you were a rank 0 god, effectively allowing you to bypass the abominations immunities 50% of the time.
