domnslave 09-20-07, 10:31 PM	My dm is running an epic campaign and after discussing with him he agreed i could stat up a Paragon Legendary Bear (from the ELH) .. and use that as the animal to base my werebear character on. I would like some help getting this stat'd out. My base race / creature will be a human....
bluetooth 09-20-07, 11:25 PM	Paragon is a pretty nasty template, but ultimately it shouldn't be any different from any other werebear build at lower levels. Since it definitely sounds like your role in the party will be Meat Tank, go with classes that support that. Warhulk, barbarian, etc. Now, if your a paragon AND a warhulk your STR will be insane, so you may want to go with something like hulking hurler because you can pick up just about anything and chuck it into space (taking epic throw). But there's a lot of ways to do it, so it depends on what you want.
NinjaPenguin 09-20-07, 11:29 PM	Speaking from a purely CharOp RAW standpoint, you have a 20 HD animal, and applying the Lycanthropy template between that and human gives you an ECL of 23. The Paragon template ends up factoring no LA at all into it. Is this what your DM is allowing? If not, Paragon is not a terribly good template to use on a character, I've found, due to the way it screws your Hit Dice. I second the notion of War Hulk. Taking that in epic levels is sweet like candy.
domnslave 09-21-07, 01:22 AM	Hrm .. let me clarify. My character is a human, .. no templates yet. He has lycanthropy lying dormant, as his mother was turned into a lycan BY a paragon legendary bear (from elh). The backstory is he's going to be bitten again and thus awakening the genetic oddity. Yes his animal form will be the same as the forementioned paragon legendary bear (stat wise, which is where i'd like you folks to help stat it)... and thus from that i need help deriving his hybrid stats, and human form stats. It will be gestalt campaign, starting at level 21, as such i plan on having one side of it being the 20 hd of the bear, the otherside being 20 levels of X ...then moving into epic levels with X/X . Get the idea? As for starting stats (at level 1).. 18,16,13,15,11,14. I think that clarifies everything enough to put forth a clear and decisive request... correct me if i'm wrong and i'll answer.
