How does it work?

Does the chart progress? And if so wouldn't a monk's belt give an unfair added advantage relative to other fighters?

The only thing that progresses for an epic monk is movement speed and unarmored AC. Unarmed Strike damage does not move after 20th.

Well, that and SR (Diamond Soul) and Healing (Wholeness of Body) and other things related to level explicitly in the text, including the DC of Stunning Fist and Quivering Palm.

BTW, shouldn't there be an epic feat to get Quivering Palm more often? 1/day, first then 3/day if you take it a second time. Then maybe WIS bonus times per day?

You can take Improved Natural Attack I believe to increase the monk damage even further too.

I allow monks to take Improved Natural Attack myself, mainly because, well, a fist is about as natural as it gets.

If you're looking to increase unarmed damage, try the Initiate of the Draconic Mysteries prestige class. Or else grow a size category.:)

Get a permanent Greater Mighty Wallop?

The monks fist is already more effective than a greatsword, what more do you want!?!

To knock a dragon straight into the stratosphere with the force of one punch, of course. :)

It's Epic Buddy, the monkey epic fist will never brake epic DR out side of damage so I let it keep growing (the damage).

According to the ELH monk unarmed damage doesn't increase after 20th, but I think it should. (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=966322)

Sure it will, you just have to invest in the feats, that are totally worth it.

IMPROVED KI STRIKE [EPIC]
Prerequisites: Wis 21, Ki strike (adamantine).
Benefit: The character’s unarmed strikes are treated as epic magic weapons for the purposes of damage reduction.

These are cool feats too, as there is nothing like doing a "judo chop" and the dragon's head falls off.

KEEN STRIKE [EPIC]
Prerequisites: Str 23, Wis 23, Improved Critical (unarmed strike), Improved Unarmed Strike, Stunning fist, ki strike (adamantine).
Benefit: The character’s unarmed strike has a critical threat range of 18-20 and deals slashing damage (at the character’s option any attack can deal bludgeoning damage, but cannot then take advantage of the enhanced threat range). This ability doesn’t stack with other abilities that expand that character’s unarmed strike’s threat range.

VORPAL STRIKE [EPIC]
Prerequisites: Str 25, Wis 25, Improved Critical (unarmed strike), Improved Unarmed Strike, Keen Strike, Stunning Fist, ki strike (adamantine).
Benefit: The character’s unarmed strike is considered to be a slashing vorpal weapon. (At the character’s option, any unarmed strike can do bludgeoning damage instead, but it loses the vorpal quality.) This ability doesn’t stack with similar abilities

With improved natural attack the epic monk does 4d8 damage, add an amulet of mighty fists +5, a belt of giant strength +6 and an inherent bonus +5 to strength, and even if the monk only has base strength 10 that's 28 average damage. A low-epic monk should be able to manage all of those (by about level 23-24). In 3.5 nothing except deities has DR over 20, and not much has that. So it's not like an epic monk is totally helpless even before she gets her improved ki strike.

While many frown on it, there's always the Epic VoP. Someone's going to insult me after this post, I can feel it lol.

Edit: wow, I'm kind of impressed actually. The universe being polite to me. I just thought it'd be funny to watch people sit there and huff about me suggesting that, but it's being pretty calm.:ayyyy!: Now, without further adieu, I'm going to scamper off into some corner:P.

Amulet of mighty Fists +6 or greater would allow Unarmed Strikes to bypass Epic DR without wasting a feat.
