Hello everybody,
I'm a DM, and one of my players wants to play a character that uses wands with both hands...
When he red Wand Expertise in Epic Insight Compilation and Double Wand Wielder in Complete Arcane, he asked me if he could use thoose feats too make up to 8 attacks (four with each hands) with his wands.

Is it possible? If yes, does my player needs to get perfect two weapon fighting to do so?

Basically, as written, yes it is possible. He needs to have a pre-epic BAB of +16, so he can have 4 attacks per round, or you need to house-rule that you get new attacks based on BAB+EAB up to 4, and he does need Perfect 2 weapon fighting, because the Wand expertise lets you use wands as often as you could attack.

Now this may seem powerful, but it really isn't, because wands are generally pretty weak, have low caster levels, and won't survive being disjoined, or get through anybody's SR. A single Pit Fiend would take away everything he buffed with the wands in 1 round, and would be immune to attacks from them. He could make higher powered wands, but they will always lag behind his own spells. And being limited to 4th level will be pretty weak.

FInally he is going to use a ton of charges to make all this happen. He will blow through a wand in 2-3 rounds.

Enjoy,

thanks for answering rob...

I know 4rth level spells in epic have strong weakness, I don't think my player will rely only on wands, but he has his answer! he wants to put orbs in his wands: easy to disjoin, yes, but no SR, no save, ranged touch attacks... maybe it worth it... we'll see ^^

I am not a big fan of the orbs myself. I don't see how anything but acid can be conjured! So I don't allow them myself, but many folks swear by them to get past SR. I mean really - Orb of Force is not "magic" for the purposes of SR? And an Orb of Fire conjured burns hotter (15d6) than an evoked fireball (10d6). I would rule that conjured fire is just normal fire. So anyway, I treat all acid as conjured, and all others as Evoked. SR applies to the evoked, not to the conjured, and voila! :)

I must admit I never thought to that!
