So the original base speed is 80, then it becomes 90 with the Barbarian's Fast Movement, right?

He's also wearing Mithral Full-plate.. and the Boots of Swiftness.

Not entirely sure how much his speed is reduced while wearing medium armor (couldn't find the answer in the Monster Manual), and even then a double to his speed makes him faster than his steed (which is just so odd).

His original base speed was 80, faster then most steeds.

I think the reduction would bring 80 feet down 1/4 to 60 feet, then +10 for fast movement. Not sure about the boots though. Either 130 or 140.

So he has a base speed of 90 after barbarian movement is added. Then you make the effects of mithral full plate, which is medium armor, and therefore reduces 30 to 20, so 90 to 60. Boots of swiftness makes it 120 - though that should be errata'ed in 3.5 to be continuous haste, and therefore make the movement rate 90 again, and not stack with expeditious retreat, etc.

The mount should have Horeshoes of Speed too. Note those used to be speed doubling in 3E as well, but now only add +30ft to the movement rate. So a decent warhorse with base speed 60 with those would have speed 90ft as well.

Ah.. my biggest reference for Epic 3.5 was dmreference.com (since I found it easier to read than d20SRD.com), and they both mentioned doubling, still (I had, infact, forgotten that Boots of Swiftness allowed the use of haste, anyway).

The steed has Horseshoes of the Peerless Steed, although that gets just as bad with the "Traveller's Mount" spell (and I was just thrilled with a steed that ran 65+ MPH, too).

The official references still have Boots of Swiftness as doubling speed. I was just mentioning it as a glaring oversight on the part of the SRD updaters, and not a conscious decision to keep that in 3.5. The designers were less than complete in their handling of Epic in the SRD. If you insist on going with what is official - double is it.

Heh, I'm honestly not too indifferent either way, but thank you.
