We had one of our players reach 37th level. It was sort of a funny thing. He had been play with us forever and he always used the same character. While the rest of the players were hovering in the 20's he had shot up past them. His character was such a hodpodge of ranger, fighter, psion, cleric, rogue that he never had any spells or powers over 2nd level and his attack bonus wasn't that great either.
While he was very tough and versitile, he never really stood out as overpowered - unlike the 25th level single class spellcasters.

My first character went all the way to 41st level. Some of our adversaries were in the 50s. In another campaign (That I joined halfway), some went into the 60s, and I heard that they had encountered NPCs in the hundreds.

47th, but the game ended after that inadvertently, as 4 of the 7 players stopped showing up.

I was playing a wizard 5 / druid 5 / arcane hierophant 37
