While using an armor with a +1 enhancement and a shield with a +1 enhancement.

Do the +1 on both items add to your AC or only one of the two?

They both add. One is a +1 enhancement to armor bonus, the other is a +1 enhancement to shield bonus.

From the SRD:

ARMOR CLASS
Your Armor Class (AC) represents how hard it is for opponents to land a solid, damaging blow on you. It’s the attack roll result that an opponent needs to achieve to hit you. Your AC is equal to the following:

10 + armor bonus + shield bonus + Dexterity modifier + size modifier

Thanks. Then there's a small error in the version of heroforge I'm using.
The AC for the character I made was 2 points lower then expected which was the exact amount of the enhancement on both shield and armor.

Consider this example:

chain shirt +1
buckler +1
+2 enhancement to 14 Dex

Normally, your AC is 17: 10 + 2 Dex + 4 armour (chain) + 1 shield (buckler)

However, each component is enhanced, increasing its bonus. Dex is enhanced to 16 and thus provides a +3 Dex bonus. Chain is enhanced to provide a +5 armour bonus. Shield is enhanced to provide a +2 shield bonus.

Thus, your AC is 20: 10 + 3 Dex + 5 armour (chain) + 2 shield (buckler)

The point to note is that the enhancement is never applied directly to your AC. It is applied to something else that then grants a bonus to your AC. If those bonuses applied directly to AC then they would not stack. Similarly, if you apply two different enhancement bonuses to your armour (say the native +1 and +2 from magic vestment) then you would only increase the armour bonus by the largest (in this case +2 from magic vestment for a total of +6 armour).
