| Alurim11-19-07, 03:42 AM | Hi guys, I have a doubt regarding the rule for using a one-handed weapon two-handed. I have a fighter with a bastard sword (with the appropriate exotic weapon feat). His strength bonus is +3 (16 Strength). Rules stipulate that you add 1½ times the character’s Strength bonus to damage rolls when using a one-handed weapon with two hands. The way my GM and I used to interpret this rule was that I would add 4 (strength bonus of 3*1.5, rounded down) to my damage rolls. Are we doing that right or are we supposed to add 1½ times the character’s Strength bonus on top of the strength bonus? Ie that would give the following calculation: 3 (strength bonus) + 4 (strength bonus of 3*1.5, rounded down). thx |

It actually came from that one bit of text from the Exotic weapon master's Uncanny Blow class feature description: "Uncanny blow : When wielding a one-handed exotic melee weapon in two hands, the character can focus the power of his attack so that he deals extra damage equal to his Strength bonus x2 instead of his Strength bonus x1-1/2." It's the use of 'extra' that had me wondering. So there you have it, I hope I'm not too deranged, doctor. :) |

The text for exotic weapon master means you would do +6 instead of the +4. I hope this helps. |
