| PoorHobo02-17-07, 09:39 AM | LOL n00b. The wizard will just have his familiar change into a beholder and put an antimagic field around the monk, then the wizard will cast forcecage in the antimagic field around the monk, summon double HD monsters with gate and then command the monk to kill himself. Even then it doesn't matter the wizard is beating 13.5 million GP NOT the monk since a 1st level commoner with 13.5 million gp can do the same thing because every campaign I've played in commoners have wealth equivalent to 40th level characters. But if the monk uses it he's cheating and not really winning. Monk doesn't stand a chance. |
| Ryusage02-17-07, 09:42 AM | It really depends on the the level of the monk and the resources available to him. With the correct equipment (and the Occult Slayer Prc;) ), the monk could easily blow away the wizard. |
| Garonak02-17-07, 10:00 AM | Think we're talking a pure lvl 40 monk with the wealth of a lvl 40 char vs a lvl 17 wizard with lvl 17 wealth. Same **** as the wiz vs fighter thread. If someone takes it seriously it'll probaly spin way out of control, like the wiz vs fig thread. |
| Tyler Do'Urden02-17-07, 10:59 AM | A properly-built epic monk is immune to magic. The wizard will just have to conjure his own demiplane and planeshift to it until the monk goes away. |
| Jezmund02-17-07, 01:31 PM | ROFL, a level 40 monk would close the gap and kick the wizard's head off before the wiz could even blink. |
| Yaeri02-17-07, 01:44 PM | But not before the wizard's chain contingency kicks in, automatically casting "win". |
| KendallDM02-17-07, 02:19 PM | What about a wizard vs. a gazebo? Hmmm? |
| Garonak02-17-07, 03:35 PM | Would that be an ordinary gazebo or an epic one? An epic gazebo fighting a lvl 17 wizard would of course win. When the Gazebo reaches HD 34 it gets Energy Immunity (All) (including sonic). I think a lvl 40 wizard would have problems with a HD 17 Gazebo... Nothing beats a gazebo. |

| savant_warlord1302-19-07, 11:58 AM | Do you have any idea of the saves on an epic monk? And his touch AC? And his SR (class ability)? Monks are caster slayers, plain and simple. |
