There is also the Orange Ioun Stone which gives you +1 Caster Level for 30,000gp. They are both unnamed bonuses so by the RAW they stack. Does anyone feel this is especially unbalancing, or another interpretation exsists that I've overlooked? |

You can't afford the ring until level 12 or Ioun until level 14 (assuming 1/4 wealth buying rule). Even then, until you get into your late teens, 50,000 gp is a hefty amount of your wealth-by-level to be pouring into two items. That would be over half your wealth at level 12 (without the 1/4 buy rule) and a full 25% of it at level 15. |

No. Not really considering that there are other ways of increasing your caster level as well (Candles of Invocation) including a Divine Feat that does it most of the time (if you are a turn heavy cleric). Point is that caster level with few exceptions (Holy Word and Blasphemy) is far less important that spell level availability. That's why practiced spellcaster is only a 'meh' feat even for multiclassed casters. -Polaris |
