Gilfalas_Elaandrin 12-17-05, 06:02 PM	1) I remember reading an entry on a magic item called 'Bracers of the Blindinfg Strike' but I cannot for the life of me rememeber what book they were in for 3.0/3.5. Can anyone who knows tell me what book or ideally book and page they are on? I've spent about 30 minutes now scouring my books and cannot find it. I thought it was in the Forgotten Realms Campaign guied at first but no go. 2) There are Holy weapons for the Good. There are Unholy Weapons for the Evil. What is there for those deities who are Neutral? I play a Warrior/Cleric of Kelemvor and with the Craft Arms and Armor feat. He wants to craft a weapon that is blessed to his deity but there is no 'Holy/Unholy' Effect for the Neutral Alignment. The referee in our game is shaping this character up to be a servant to Kelemvors faith who will sometimes be called upon to go to the outer/lower planes to enforce his edicts on those who have taken souls or kept them from his final judgement. Usually this is the chaotic demons of the Abyss who sometimes raid the Fugue plane to steal souls to torture but occasionly the usually more compliant Devils and even rarely those good entities who have trod upon Kelemvor's territory as the Judge of the Damned need to be 'whipped' into shape or dealt with. I am looking for balanced suggestions to present to my ref for a weapon ability that would help deal with this and would be appropriately 'Holy' in a neutral sort of way. Ideally it should cost the same in XP/Gold and power to make as the Holy/Unholy Abilities. Thanks in advance for any help you folks can give on the above. :)

Sluagh 12-17-05, 08:34 PM	You certainly won't be able to (fairly) make a Neutral Aligned weapon that can be either Holy or Unholy by situation... it would be at least a +3, possibly +4 enchantment, rather than +2. Your best, most realistic bet would be to carry two weapons, one Holy, the other Unholy. Or if you're super set on having a Neutrally aligned weapon, perhaps have it les spotent than either Holy or Unholy, but affecting Evil and Good creatures. You have to keep in mind that Neutral is a middle ground. It's not opposed to good or evil and it supports neither, it supports a balance... there's no reason why it should be inherently good at combatting those of either alignment.
Gilfalas_Elaandrin 12-17-05, 08:37 PM	Kalstrand - Thanks! Sluagh - My ref is of the opinion that Kelemvor's servants have a reason to actively go out and confront all alignments. I was thinking a Neutral version of 'Holy' that affected the other Alignments but was only 1d6 extra rather than the 2d6 the 'holy/unholy' does. Would that be balanced?
Sluagh 12-17-05, 08:45 PM	Doesn't seem unreasonable... and it could confer the negative level to those of Good or Evil alignments who wield it as well. Robe of the Magi gives a precident for this sort of thing, it comes in three forms for casters of the different good/evil axis alignments.

Sluagh 12-17-05, 09:01 PM	Well, instead of having it as a weapon enchantment of +2 cost, you could have an unique weapon that has that as its special property... then you don't have to worry about making a sensible name for the enchantment, but just a sensible name for the weapon itself... maybe something like "Balance of Justice" or something cheesy like that :P
Gilfalas_Elaandrin 12-18-05, 12:12 AM	Good idea actually. Sorta of like the Frost Brand or Holy Avenger. Thanks I already had an idea for a name for the blade so I can just apply that as a name for that whole sword type. Now I just need the money in game to make it hehe.
