If I crit are all the bonuses add applied on the extra roll. I had always thought that it was, but I have found out recently that some DM's don't add the bonus, and I could not find anything in the books that supported it. |

First off, weapon focus only adds to the to hit roll, not damage. As far as crits go, only extra damage dice--that is, dice that are not part of the weapon's base damage--are not multiplied. Str bonus, enhancement bonus and weapon spec damage bonus would all be multiplied. Things like the fire damage from a flaming longsword would not be multiplied. |
| baby_kamikaize_kobold08-29-07, 09:43 PM | I beleive that ballistas are detailed in the DMG |

Also, extra dice don't add on a crit but STR, Enhancement Bonus, etc adds. |
| Pinkycatcher08-29-07, 11:52 PM | Also ballista are talked about in Stormwrack, I don't know if they have different info, I'm just saying |
| LoneStranger08-30-07, 01:11 AM | The GMs that I've worked with have always allowed the modifiers to multiply as well. So unless it's houseruled differently str, enhancement, and weapon specialization all get multiplied. |
| Frugal08-30-07, 08:15 AM | The GMs that I've worked with have always allowed the modifiers to multiply as well. That would be the way the rules work: Sometimes you multiply damage by some factor, such as on a critical hit. Roll the damage (with all modifiers) multiple times and total the results. Note: When you multiply damage more than once, each multiplier works off the original, unmultiplied damage. Exception: Extra damage dice over and above a weapon’s normal damage are never multiplied. Not being critical, just figured someone should quote the exact rule in this thread and this seemed like a good place to do it. |
