| Antimyth07-21-07, 12:06 AM | I know there are a few of these threads but its just so damn confusing! So here's my question: - I have a base attack bonus of +6/+1 - I dual wield short swords - I have 2 weapon fighting, imp. 2 weapon fighting Regardless of any other bonuses how many attacks do I get and at what bonuses? |
| FrotzMe07-21-07, 12:17 AM | Using a full attack, ITWF gets you two extra swings with your 'off hand'. Since you are using a light weapon in your 'off hand', your penalty for two weapon fighting is -2/-2. Therefore, your attacks will be +4/+4/-1/-1; that's 'on hand'/'off hand'/'on hand'/'off hand'. |
| Steevo07-21-07, 01:58 AM | furthermore, the two "off hand" attacks will only do 1/2 Str bonus to damage, IIRC. |
| Nom07-21-07, 09:10 PM | FrotzMe is correct, but let's do it slightly differently. Assume a full attack (can't make more than one attack on a standard attack): * Primary weapon normally has two attacks at +6/+1. * We use TWF to get an extra attack with our off-hand weapon, so that imposes a -2 penalty to all attacks. Thus: Primary weapon gets +4/-1 (including BAB and -2 TWF, and iterative) Off-hand weapon gets +4 (including BAB and -2 TWF) * We then add improved TWF, which grants a second off-hand attack at -5. Primary weapon gets +4/-1 (including BAB and -2 TWF, and iterative) Off-hand weapon gets +4/-1 (including BAB and -2 TWF, and -5 ITWF) |

So here's my question: - I have a base attack bonus of +6/+1 - I dual wield short swords - I have 2 weapon fighting, imp. 2 weapon fighting Regardless of any other bonuses how many attacks do I get and at what bonuses? Your off hand weapon is light and you have the penalty reducing TWF feat and another feat (ITWF) that grants you an extra attack. When you use a full attack action, here's the order of attacks and the bonuses you 'll get: +4/-1/+4/-1 The first two attacks (in blue) are the attacks you make with your primary hand with the -2 penalty imposed. The last two attacks (in red) are the attacks you 'll make with your off hand weapon with the -2 and the -5 (ITWF) penalty imposed to the highest BAB you possess: the modified +4 |
| gbnogkfs07-22-07, 10:35 AM | here's the order of attacks and the bonuses you 'll get: +4/-1/+4/-1 the weapons order is not relevant; the only limit is that you must take the '+4' attack with a weapon before taking the '-1' attack with the same weapon. |
| Steidas07-22-07, 12:57 PM | One question. If I use a medium weapon on my off-hand, do I apply the bonus for power attack to the damage rolls made for that weapon or is it still considered a "light weapon"? |
| shift24407-22-07, 01:37 PM | One question. If I use a medium weapon on my off-hand, do I apply the bonus for power attack to the damage rolls made for that weapon or is it still considered a "light weapon"?If you use a medium weapon, it's a medium weapon and no longer light. You take TWF penalties for using a non-light offhand weapon, but should gain the power attack damage bonuses, since power attack only makes a point about not working for light weapons and nothing about offhand. You still get 1/2 strength to damage though. |
| BW022207-22-07, 02:29 PM | Folks, Answer: +4/+4/-1/-1 (primary/off hand/primay/off hand) You may switch the order of your primary and off hand attacks, but only within the same plus range. i.e. the +4's can be taken in any order, but must be taken before the -1's -- which can be taken in any order). Multiple attacks from high BAB must be taken in order of highest to lowest plus. Extra attacks from other sources (TWF, flurry, rapid shot, natural weapon attacks) may be taken in any order. |
