09-13-04, 05:28 AM If you had 200.000 gold, what equipment and weapons would you buy to your character...?

and what are the individual character stats ........st,int,wis,dex,con,cha?

what do you want to do with this character,.......any ideas of feat selection?

i need a starting point , or is that the character and not just your signature

09-13-04, 09:40 AM a fully decked out sword, braces of armor, gloves of dex, belt of orgers strangth, cloak of minor displacement, and any usfull rings that increase ac or other iteams that increase hide and search and spot tumble and the like. that might be too much i havent checked what that would run about. is 200,000 gp what a level 20 charicter gets?

This would be be for a charicter that has the following stats
28 dex
17 str
14 con
11 int
18 wis
11 cha

Possible a 20 in str with abalite increases over levels.

09-13-04, 10:03 AM what class are you,............ it would be bad to recomend full plate mail if you are a sorceror.

the items need to be specific to the character to fully maximise his potential.

also the starting gold fora 20th lvl character is 760000gp DMG p 135

Seriously now, I'd rather invest in some fortress somewhere. Always wanted a character that has a floating fortress. Oh, yes, floating :)

09-13-04, 07:02 PM I don't think this goes in Char Op, since he's not asking "how can I get the most out of my 200,000 gp?" he's asking "what would you buy." People can post anything they like... from fortresses to antimagic cuffs.

Depends on which character, honestly. I'd buy my samurai some bracers of armor +8, a ROP +5, and then a cha +6 item and a dex +6 item... and then something miscellanious, like sandals of striding and springing. Then again, at his level, those two protective items would make his AC untouchable.

I'm weird, I frequently prioritize AC items over practically everything else. One of my clerics has literally DISGUSTED our DM with his AC, though that was because the rest of the party had a really crappy set of ACs... we were level 18 or so and they had ~25 AC. I had somewhere in the upper 30's... +5 nimble mithral full plate, and a +5 animated large shield, as well as a ROP +3 or so... made it so I had to tank a lot =P

09-13-04, 08:21 PM Hmm... for my Dwarf Shield Fighter, I'd spend it all on Shield and Armor enhancements, including weapon bonuses for the shield. As well as other assorted defensive items, such as Steadfast Boots, Constitution enhancing items(probably Tomes), etc.

09-13-04, 10:02 PM If you everyone wanted a non power based answer. you guys should have asked so. if i had 1000 gp i would get a rock collection (for same character) a nice leather and fine cloth outfit (part swaid, part pleather?), a cape of leather with art newvou embroidery. A master works weapon with acid etching. A few glass bottles for carrying spring water of healing or fireflies or faires (so if I die I will get resurrected :)) . If I had 2000 gp added with that I would buy a quiver of ehlonna

09-14-04, 10:44 AM Actually, one of my favorite combos for clerics is a suit of glamered, silent moves full plate... glamered to look like monastic robes. Nothing beats the "tink" of arrows on cloth... or what looks to be cloth anyway. Silent moves is mostly to keep it from being so obviously armor, with the creaking and such.

Can't say I'd buy it for my cleric, though, since he already has this. I'm very pleased with the purchase, though :D

Then I'd tax my people enough to actually provide them return on their investments and make myself a pretty penny in the process--then again, I guess that'd mean I'd stop "adventuring" somewhere around Aristocrat 9 and just live rich after that...

BTW, where did I get the 200,000 gold in the first place? Might be worthwhile to tie up any "loose-ends" that resulted from said aquisition.

-Bebilith's Heart (custom)- cast Greater Dispel, 3/day, at 17th caster lvl
-Ring of Counterspells
-Portable Hole x2
-Luckstone
-Permanently shrunk, invisible, fire/acid proof spellbook with an adamantium cover.
-half share in a small keep

I didn't really need anything else.

09-14-04, 05:24 PM That depends which character it was. For my elf ranger, I would get a +5 Composite Longbow (+2 Str bonus), a Sunblade, a +5 Mithral Chain Shirt of Invulnerability and... uh... (counts on fingers)... (checks DMG)... ooh! An Amulet of Natural Armor +4!

Now, if I was going to use the race & class that I made up, it would be a +5 Defending Halberd, some +5 Adamantine Full Plate of Invulnerability, and an Amulet of Natural Armor +5. (Try and hit me now monster-boy!!!)

Its essentially full plate that counts as medium armor, with lower penalties, counts as mediuma rmor, and it stores itself in a little box. On a command word, thousands of little metal shapes swarm over you and build the suit of armor around you.

Just upgrade that with all the abilities you want, and that'll eat up a good chunk of your money. Great suit of armor.

09-15-04, 01:47 PM I would totally get myself a Warstrider from Monte Cook's Chaositech book. A paltry 200k in price, then just drive around with my archer buddies as we chomp everything in sight with my 3d6+10 bite attack. At the same time, the lot of us will be going slowly insane and mutated with every passing month.
