I just came into a bunch of 2E material with a lot of cool flavor stuff like dry goods etc. Problem is the few I could find in 3E are no where near close in price. So I assume the rest aren't either.

I tried looking at the 2E to 3E conversion booklet but there was nothing there about converting gold. Does anyone know the standard conversion between the two? I'm guessing there may be multiple conversions because electrum pieces were removed as well.

Electrum was 2 per gp could probably go with that, as ep do not exist in current D&D.

2e has the same coin conversions as 3.5 so it must be different pricing.

First addition AD&D had 20 cp to a silver piece but that not the question.

Either 1E or 2E had 5gp to 1pp as well, IIRC... not that it matters.

Just compare the 2E and 3E ones that you do have and figure out an agreeable conversion rate. Apply it across the board and tweak to fit.

The conversion is the same between 2nd ed. and 3rd ed. (and 3.5), but many items were re-evaluated and the price lowered or raised depending on the new evaluation.

For example, full plate armor.
