| indigo_ferret06-08-07, 12:42 PM | Can anyone tell me the stats (and where to find them) for a +3 Wounding Greataxe that the Brass Golem wields in the Monster Manual II? Thank You |
| xerric06-08-07, 12:54 PM | http://www.d20srd.org/srd/equipment/weapons.htm#weaponDescriptions this would have the greataxe info you seek, the wounding ability is also in there http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/magicWeapons.htm#wounding this is available to all with the open game licensing. Hope this helps |
| indigo_ferret06-08-07, 01:12 PM | Thanks, these pages help out alot!! |
| RobbyPants06-08-07, 03:46 PM | I don't know that it matters for your game, but the MMII is a 3.0 book, and the wounding enchantment has changed from 3.0 to 3.5. Not that this is a problem, I'm just pointing that out (I don't remember what details the monster entry gives). |
| indigo_ferret06-08-07, 07:35 PM | I did not know that the MMII is a 3.0 book, and my campagin is 3.5. I can't seem to find the description for 3.5 wounding enchantment in the PHB, where else could I find the description? |
| Wolfvyn06-08-07, 07:45 PM | basically instead of bleeding a hp each round per hit you now loose 2 ability points from your constituion score per hit. |
| Muktar06-08-07, 07:57 PM | basically instead of bleeding a hp each round per hit you now loose 2 ability points from your constituion score per hit. This is partially incorrect. It does con damage but it only does 1 con dmg per hit and it is never multiplied when it criticals. |

It's not in the PHB, but there are two places you can find it: The back of the DMG Under magical items in the SRD (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/magicWeapons.htm#wounding) (System Reference Document) |
| Wolfvyn06-09-07, 08:57 PM | This is partially incorrect. It does con damage but it only does 1 con dmg per hit and it is never multiplied when it criticals. I pretty sure it does 2 con damage per hit and when did I ever say it is multiplied? Anyway it's not in the players handbook. it is in the DMG under weapon enchants. |
| chronocrosselite06-09-07, 09:04 PM | i have a question on wounding? what happens if the weapon drops a creatures con to zero? |
| Noisrevni06-09-07, 09:21 PM | IIRC, I believe dropping Con to zero kills the creature. |
| bondious06-09-07, 09:45 PM | IIRC, I believe dropping Con to zero kills the creature. Unless you're a creature with no Con score, like a construct or undead, then you're dead. I pretty sure it does 2 con damage per hit and when did I ever say it is multiplied? Wounding does 1 Con damage per hit and is a +2 ability, and there is a Greater Wounding somewhere that does 2 Con damage per hit and is a +4 ability. It might be in the 'Magic Item Compendium', which I have but don't have with me, so I couldn't tell ya. :( basically instead of bleeding a hp each round per hit you now loose 2 ability points from your constituion score per hit. I still use the old version of Wounding, but have re-named it "Bleeding Wounds". Always thought it was pretty cool. |
| NobodyRemembersThis06-10-07, 10:21 AM | have the old version be +1 and deal 1 point of damage each round for 5 rounds, durations overlap and do not stack? Sounds aboot right for +1 ability. |
| bondious06-10-07, 07:19 PM | have the old version be +1 and deal 1 point of damage each round for 5 rounds, durations overlap and do not stack? Sounds aboot right for +1 ability. I use a 10 round duration, a Heal (DC: 15) check to stem each bleeding wound, and magical healing will close 1 bleeding wound per spell level (Ex: Cure Light will automatically close 1 wound, Cure Serious will close 3, etc) along with healing the appropriate amount of damage. And yeah, a +1 ability. :D |
