Harmor 09-10-04, 07:07 PM	Can you sneak attack with a weapon you're not proficient in? Example: Let say I happen to have run out of bolts for my crossbow. So I hide... 1. Can I throw the crossbow and sneak attack with it? 2. Can I use my feats like Far Shot and Precise Shot if I'm within 30-feet? 3. What is the damage of a thrown crossbow?
Count Arioch the 28th 09-10-04, 07:14 PM	Ugh, good question. I would say that technically, you can, by the rules. However, I feel justified this time in saying that you probably shouldn't be able to sneak attack with a weapon you can't use effectively. However, I would say that if you took the feat "throw crossbow", then you could sneak attack with it. I would rule that a thrown crossbow deals 1d6 bludgeoning damage.
The Grinning Pint 09-10-04, 07:15 PM	Youd be nonproficient with the crossbow being thrown meaning -4. It would only have a range of 10 ft which is harsh. the damage would be.. I dont really know but I'd say a d6. with a crit of x2 of course
