From the description of a wand, would it lend itself to be used as a light club?

Yes, but it would be an improvised weapon and incure penalties as such.

I would say no, because a wand is a slender piece of wood and is too light to be a club. It would be like hitting someone with a ruler. It would sting, but not do any real damage (or subdual damage).

A typical wand is 6 inches to 12 inches long and about 1/4 inch thick, and often weighs no more than 1 ounce.Tch. He's right. A club is a one-handed medium weapon that weight 3lb. A wand would be a light weapon that weighs...however much an ounce is in lb. (and lb. means pounds, right?). Probably not that much.

Rods on the other hand weigh 5 pounds and would probably work much better.

Ok a Rod yes, but not a wand.

But can you use it to stab with for like 1d2 points of damage.

I happend to have used up all the charges in a wand and didn't have a weapon, so my DM allowed me to use the wand as a light club that did 1d2 points of piercing damage.

I was just curious what you guys thought...I guess I have a generous DM.

Improvised weapon. 1D2 Piercing damage is correct. CritRange 20/x2

Also, has AC 7, 5 hit points, hardness 5, and a break DC of 16.

And since it hasn't been mentioned yet, improvised weapons have no weapon class and you attack with a -4 to hit.

"A wand with no charges is a stick."

I think that's how it goes in the books, ain't it?
