| Harmor10-22-04, 04:47 PM | Anyone have a reference to Alchemical Oozebane. Either something that does more damage to oozes or stops oozes from moving past a square would be great. Thanks. |
| Harmor10-23-04, 05:18 AM | Perhaps something to research that effect Oozes? 1. A flask that does 2d4 damage for 2 rounds to oozes on a direct hit and 2 points of splash in a 5-foot radius? 2. A flask that puts down a salt-based oil in a 5-foot square that oozes cannot enter What do you think? |
| Harmor10-25-04, 04:49 AM | Well apparently there isn't such thing. So how do I go about researching it? |
| Narg10-25-04, 06:59 AM | The oozes themselves are made of slime/chemicals/some kind of disgusting stuff that are enchanted (unshure, I don't got my books here). The oozes also moves/floats on the ground/walls. So just pour something* that irritates them on the surface or something that slipperey that they cannot get hold. *Something can be a chemical that makes them freeze (throw a spell that deals ALOT of frost damage!). Just invent something that are made to hurt some types of oozes, let them deal the same amount of damage as Alchemist's Fire. |
| Harmor10-25-04, 08:52 AM | Alchemists fire puts someone on fire and they burn until they put it out (DMG 303). So could I say get some ooze in a vile and spend a month experimenting with oozes until I come up with something... Perhaps a DC 30 Alchemist check to see if I come up with something like: Oozebane: You can throw a flask of oozebane as a splash weapon. Treat this attack as a ranged touch attack with a range increment of 10 feet. A direct hit deals 2d4 points of damage too oozes. Every ooze creature within 5 feet of the point where the flask hits takes 1 point of damage from the splash. On the round following a direct hit, the target takes an additional 2d4 points of damage. Craft (Alchemy) DC 20; 15gp -- Oozeward: You place this oil on a 5-foot square and oozes are warded from entering that square. The oozeward has an acrid odor but it otherwise harmless. The oil evaporates after 2d4 rounds. Craft (Alchemy) DC 25; 50gp What do you guys think? I think the DC to create a new alchemical item should be 10 more than its normal DC, so in this case DC 30 and 35 respectively? What do you guys think? |
| carnivore10-25-04, 01:55 PM | how about SALT....works on slugs :D |
| Beamup10-25-04, 03:13 PM | I'd make a Knowledge(Dungeoneering) AND a Craft(Alchemy) check required to create such a new substance. But your suggested DCs seem OK. |
