| jokey66507-12-07, 03:51 PM | I don't think I've ever seen a 3-handed weapon, but I do seem to remember seeing somewhere that each extra hand on a weapon adds another .5 STR bonus to damage. |
| tarkin07-12-07, 05:00 PM | If I were making up a rule from scratch I would rule that each additional hand does nothing to the strength and applies -2 cumulative penalty to hit. It seems like a very silly thing to do. Strength is mostly in your back, and once you apply your entire back, you got nothing left to add. The extra hand seems far more likley to just get in the way. |

Crazy looking thing called a scissors sword, think it was meant to wielded with two hands gripping each hilt. Never seen or heard of a rule like jokey605's, I'd put my guess closer to tarkin's. |

I think this weapon is desinged for creatures with three arms or more. In which case you'll be an idiot to think any body structure as big as an arm is there for aesthetic purposes only |
| RavenDrake07-12-07, 09:24 PM | Actually Savage Species (page 42) has rules for making weapons for creatures with more than 2 hands. You can't do it with normal equipment, but if the weapon is constructed so that it's properly balanced and the hilt lengthened to accommodate it, then the weapon can accommodate additional hands(each hand, being an offhand, adds .5x strength modifier so that three hands gives you 2x strength, 4 hands gives you 2.5x, etc.) |
