Hi,


question is:
If the character did one standart action and a move-equivalent like loading a hand crossbow does the character get a 5ft step or not.
The move-equivalent could count as moved and therefor no 5ft step is allowed or the step could be allowed since the charakter did something like a move but has not actually moved yet ?

As long as the character in question did not move (as in, 5, 10, 15, 20 ft, etc), they would get a five foot step, or, if they had taken a five foot step, would not be able to move.

You lose your ability to make a 5-foot step if you take a movement action, not a move equivalent action. So, yes, the character in question may make a five-foot step in the situation you mentioned.
