| Psychoticpsymon09-14-05, 11:01 AM | With BAB, at certain levels characters get an extra attack per action, or at least thats what a friend is telling me. I would like to understand it further, but cannot find it in the PHB. Does it work for ranged, melee, or magic? HALP! |
| Temrek09-14-05, 11:03 AM | You gain extra attacks, but only when doing a full attack (spending a full round action to attack). It works with anything that requires an attack action. Ranged, Thrown, Melee etc... Spells however dont so no extra attacks with spells. |
| Psychoticpsymon09-14-05, 11:07 AM | Do you add you attack modifiers to each roll? Like my dex adding to bow attack bonus, and melee weapon getting str bonus? |
| Temrek09-14-05, 11:12 AM | Yes its basically the same bonus as it is for the first attack with a -5 penalty for each attack beyond the first. |
| Psychoticpsymon09-21-05, 11:53 AM | So ranger level 6th + rapid shot = 4 shots (+6/+1)? What if we add multishot? |
| Merestil Haye09-21-05, 12:09 PM | Not quite. A character with +6 BAB and Rapid Shot gets one extra attack, not one for each attack he would normally get. So he would fire three arrows in the round, at +4/+4/-1 (plus all other applicable modifiers). You may not combine Rapid Shot with Manyshot. |
| Zherog09-21-05, 12:32 PM | You also cannot combine Manyshot with a full attack. You either take a full attack, or you use Manyshot. |
