Ok. I am playing a Half-Giant Knight in a friends homebrewed campaign. I was going to take the Tower Shield Proficiency feat and am looking at good weapons to take advantage of the knight's Bulwark of Defense ability. Was wondering if the Halberd can be used as a one-hand weapon by a half-giant or are there any reach weapons that could be that would also be usable at close range also?

No; 2 handed weapons must be held with 2 hands.

ask your DM, By the books i think No... but your DM may decide with monkey grip and exotic weapon pro. you can do it.

As a DM i would say that even that is a little low to let you use it.

Well, the half-giant has Powerful build correct? And halberd is a one-handed weapon for medium creatures correct? So, if the half-giant counts as large for wielding weapons, he could wield a medium 2-handed weapon in one hand, correct?

no, he can use weapons one size larger, but he can't use a medium weapon as a small weapon. a 2-H medium weapon is still a 2-H for him. he could use a one-handed large weapon in one hand. anyway, the halberd doesn't have reach

Was wondering if the Halberd can be used as a one-hand weapon by a half-giantAsk your DM how he interprets it.

are there any reach weapons that could be that would also be usable at close range also?I believe the Kusari-gama (from the DMG) is a one-handed reach weapon that can also be used at close range.

(note that the halberd is not a reach weapon)

Another alternative (when you have more money) is to get an animated tower shield.
