First, are there any official rules for inhaled poisons, and for aersolizing ingested poisons?

Second, is there any established poison in d&d that would be like the one Dr. Jones drank in Indiana Jones And The Temple of Doom? :)

From the SRD (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/specialAbilities.htm#poison):

Inhaled poisons are usually contained in fragile vials or eggshells. They can be thrown as a ranged attack with a range increment of 10 feet. When it strikes a hard surface (or is struck hard), the container releases its poison. One dose spreads to fill the volume of a 10-foot cube. Each creature within the area must make a saving throw. (Holding one’s breath is ineffective against inhaled poisons; they affect the nasal membranes, tear ducts, and other parts of the body.)

So there are rules for inhaled poisons.

If you want to aerosolize ingested poisons, I'd say just make it so the poison comes in the inhaled form instead of the ingested form. I don't see the way the poison is delivered as being anything more than a flavour thing.

Alternately, if you feel that poisons should be of a specific delivery type, maybe a cost of an extra 10-25% to convert it to a new type?

I don't remember Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom very well ... care to describe the effects of the poison?

I strongly disagree.

If I were to allow it at all, I would definitely require a feat of some kind and a LARGE cost to convert a poison from injested to inhaled. 10-25% is not large. I am talking x10 here.

The various methods are not identical.

Inhaled is the easiest. It basically requires a splash weapon, if you get in the same square, you get them and the people NEAR them.

Contact just requires a touch. It can be done via a touch attack, or simply left on a surface they will touch. It is the 2nd easiest delivery method.

Injury requires a to hit. This is much harder.

Ingested is the HARDEST of all. Here, you have to actually get the victim to EAT something. Unless it is a monster with a bite attack, you simply can not do that.

This is something WoTC knew and used to both price and to give powers to poisons.

Compare the inhaled versus the ingested poisons

Id moss Ingested DC 14 primary:1d4 Int Secondary:2d6 Int
Cost: 125 gp

Insanity mist Inhaled DC 15 Primary: 1d4 Wis Secondary: 2d6 Wis
Cost 1,500 gp

While the DC is almost the same, and the effect is almost identicaly (OK, so one is for clerics and also effects will saves, the other is for mages), The Price is MORE than 10x for the inhaled

No way is a mere 10%,25%, or even 50% appropriate to convert ingested to inhaled.

P.S. It also makes little sense. Lungs are designed to keep everything but tiny little oxygen molecules out. Stomache has to let a lot of things in.
