1. Can someone break down the formula for getting a Wand of Greater Invisibility? I'm thinking either 20 charges or 50.

2. Is it possible to get the amulet of natural armor go to another slot as something else? Like a shroud of natural armor or some such?

3. I got lucky and got a minor artifact in the game I'm currently playing in, and I'd like to add at least one more +1 enhancement, maybe an additional one later, is this possible and can I get the formula to do so? As it is now, its a +2 silver keen elf bane scimitar.

Thanks guys.

1. Can someone break down the formula for getting a Wand of Greater Invisibility?Cost to create is 375 gp × the level of the spell × the level of the caster. Market price is twice this (or 21,000 go in this case). This is for 50 charges. If you bought one used, you would divide by 50, then multiply by the remaining charges.

2. Is it possible to get the amulet of natural armor go to another slot as something else? Like a shroud of natural armor or some such? From the rules (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/creatingMagicItems.htm#bodySlotAffinitie s):
"Wondrous items that don’t match the affinity for a particular body slot should cost 50% more than wondrous items that match the affinity."

3. I got lucky and got a minor artifact in the game I'm currently playing in, and I'd like to add at least one more +1 enhancement, maybe an additional one later, is this possible and can I get the formula to do so? As it is now, its a +2 silver keen elf bane scimitar. From the 3.5 FAQ:
"Adding New Abilities (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/creatingMagicItems.htm#addingNewAbilitie s) on page 288 of the Dungeon Master’s Guide addresses this issue. Typically, you must pay the difference in gp, XP, and days of time equal to the difference between the two items."

In this case, the weapon is a +4 equivalent (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/magicWeapons.htm). Adding another +1 would be 18k gp.

Edit: corrected initial formula

As mvincent said, the formula for Wands is in the DMG and it's a fixed formula(for the most part). 375gp x 4th level spell x 7th minimum caster level = 28,000gp. Greater Invisibility is a fourth level spell.

Natural armour is most commonly added to an amulet because the neck slot is a common protection slot(see body slot affinities in the DMG, page 288). Making another item with a protection affinity(such as a cloak) grant a natural armour bonus should not raise the price. Otherwise you're looking at a 50% increase in price for contrasting affinities(for example, Gloves of natural Armour). If you have the magic item compendium, they also have a list of prices for adding common effects(like enhancement to natural armour) to existing magic items, if there's a neck slot item you don't want to have to give up.

If the item is just a +2 silver keen elf bane scimitar, then increasing it's effects are just as as mvincent said. If the item is actually an ARTIFACT, and not just a special magic item, however, then even if its nature is fairly mundane you can't neccessarily waltz out to any magical smith and pay to have it upgraded. I would talk with your DM about it, as it may be that such an item would have additional powers already that you don't know about or that haven't manifested.

"Say a wizard wanted to increase the armor bonus on
her robe of the archmagi, or improve her ring of wizardry III
to a ring of wizardry IV. How would I figure out the cost for
increasing such abilities?
Strictly speaking, neither of these items can be improved in
the normal fashion (see previous question), since there aren’t
any “better” versions of them in the game. Both a +1
longsword and +2 longsword exist in the game and have
specific costs, so one can determine the cost difference between
them (and thus the cost to improve one to be the other). There’s
no robe of the archmagi with a +6 armor bonus, however, and a
D&D FAQ v.3.5 61 Update Version: 12/21/07
ring of wizardry IV isn’t just a ring of wizardry III with more
powers (but rather a ring with a different variety of the same
kind of power).
That said, a DM willing to allow leeway in item creation
could allow a character to upgrade such an item’s capabilities,
using the same guidelines as for improving any other item (see
previous question). Improving a robe of the archmagi’s armor
bonus from +5 to +6 is a lot like improving bracers of armor
+5 to bracers of armor +6 (an 11,000-gp difference).
Changing a ring of wizardry III to a ring of wizardry IV is a
slightly different issue (since the abilities aren’t cumulative),
but a DM willing to allow this should charge the character the
difference between the two items (30,000 gp if she pays
another character to upgrade the ring, or 15,000 gp and 1,200
XP if she upgrades it herself). Unlike the previous examples,
this actually changes the power of the ring rather than simply
adding more powers (it now doubles 4th-level spells but no
longer doubles 3rd-level spells)."

The correct formula to price a wand is

Spell Level * Caster Level * 750

For a 4th level spell at 7th caster level the cost is 21,000gp.

The cost of materials to create such a wand is 375 * spell level * caster level.

The correct formula to price a wand isOops. I had cut/pasted the creation formula cost out of the SRD. Fixed.

Thanks guys.

The scimitar is an actual artifact, but my character is a spring attack/hide in plain sight type, and I was checking on adding deadly precision to it.

The amulet question came because I have an Amulet of Natural Armor and an Amulet of Wisdom +4 and I will get a Wis bonus to AC, so I want to keep that for sure. I have a few slots open though, so was debating moving the Nat Armor to another slot. So to do this would make it cost 12000 gp? Thats 8000 + 50%. I'm not sure if that will be worth it heh.

I appreciate the help.
