| poetria08-26-06, 01:10 PM | 1. Ranged magic items: If an individual has a longbow +2 and shoots a non-magical arrow, does the arrow do an additional 2 pts damage from the magic in the bow? 2. Chase rules suck! We continually have this argument regarding chasing. PC and NPC have same speed. PC chases NPC. Opposed Dex check. PC wins. PC gets to attack NPC. Can NPC run away again and the Evasion/Pursuit continue? NPC wins Dex check. NPC not caught. Does NPC completely get away even though PC has same speed? I really hate chase scenes, btw. Thanks in advance. |
| InkBlot08-26-06, 01:34 PM | 1. Yes. Ammunition always gains the benefit of whatever magic is placed on the weapon that fired it. So when you fire a non-magical arrow from a +2 bow the arrow becomes a +2 arrow for that attack. 2. The special chase rules in the DMG should only kick in if the chase goes on for more than a few rounds without anyone making any progress. In other words, I believe that once your hypothetical PC caught up the DM should have stopped using chase rules. |
