| DarkDewDrop10-07-06, 11:27 AM | Ok I want to raise my ac a bit I have 1 natural armor 5 because of dex and 3 because of being a ninja/wis. But i would like a littel more after a close call with an elimental. So i you would help I want to know some things that a can use to boots ac (not armor). Also what is the cost of a hand cart I just can’t find it any ware. |
| pyropetey910-07-06, 01:28 PM | To answer your second question first, I don't really know. I would suggest halving all values for the cart listed in the PHB (see pages 129 and 132 for info, assuming 3.5). The first question doesn't necessarily have a simple answer. You don't mention how much money you have available. Bracers of Armor, Amulet of Natural Armor, and Ring of Protection are all good (though somewhat expensive) options. There is also a feat (I'm sorry, I don't remember the name or sourcebook offhand) that increases your natural armor, if that is an option for you. If I can find the feat, I will post it, otherwise perhaps someone else will be able to think of it. |
| DarkDewDrop10-07-06, 01:46 PM | Well my funds are low and I need all of the items I have to be under 53 pounds. I’m not interested in the feats that increase ac for quite a bit because I’m working for a prestige class. The price range I currently have is about 3000gp give or take due to the party funds last spending and it’s my turn next to get some thing nice(aslo we do have some stuff usless armor to sell. The funny thing is half of the party members have bracers of armor (2 wizards and a ranger). But dose gloves of dex increase ac? |
| pyropetey910-07-06, 02:27 PM | gloves of dexterity do increase AC, but it's an even more expensive way to do it than amulet of natural armor or ring or protection. with 3,000 gp, you could get a Ring of Protection +1 and Bracers of Armor +1 (i know they seem ridiculous, but every little bit can help). something else to think about is that those wizards don't need AC so much, especially if they know the Mage Armor or Shield spells, so you might consider asking them to turn them over to you. if you're going into combat, your AC is much more important than that of someone who's standing in the back hurling spells. if they say something about archers, just remind them that your speed will let you close on archers quickly, forcing them to drop those bows. |
| MareltEkiran10-07-06, 02:30 PM | Gloves of Dexterity increase your dexterity and dexterity gives a direct increase to AC (as long as you don't surpass your armour DEX limit, but you don't seem to be wearing armour). What is more, you can wear gloves of dexterity and bracers of armour at the same time, because they occupy different body slots. The cheapest way to increase your AC directly is through Bracers of Armour (assuming that you're not wearing armour already). Rings of Protection and Amulets of Natural armour come in second. |
| DarkDewDrop10-07-06, 03:34 PM | With the amulets that provide natural armor would it stack with the +1 natual armor that a get because of race that I already have? |
| DragonBringerX10-07-06, 07:15 PM | if you dont mind temporary AC, you might want to consider a few potions of barkskin. i think its +3 nat armor or something, but will only last you a combat. save em for the tough dudes. |
| jaelis10-07-06, 07:51 PM | The amulet of natural armor (or a barkskin potion) will stack, assuming your current bonus is really natural and not already a magic enhancement. Another good fix is to get a party wizard to cast mage armor on you. That lasts several hours and costs nothing but a first level slot. Between an amulet of natural armor and a ring of protection, take the ring. They cost the same, but the ring applies to your touch AC while the amulet doesn't. |
