| grok_grok01-29-08, 04:32 PM | I have a couple of questions about crossbows. First is there a way to prevent attack of oppurinity when reloading in a threaten space ( please no comments about just not reloading in a threaten space) and is there anything for crossbows that like the composite version of a bow? Such as adding your STR to your demage or what not? |

First is there a way to prevent attack of oppurinity when reloading in a threaten space ( please no comments about just not reloading in a threaten space) No, not that I know of. The spell Wings of Cover (A level 2 Sorcerer Spell from Races of Dragon) can block the damage from the AoO, though. and is there anything for crossbows that like the composite version of a bow? Such as adding your STR to your demage or what not? No, and that actually makes absolutely zero sense whatsoever. Why would a gun care how strong you are? Can you crank the crossbow really hard or something? The only think you can do is get half your dex bonus to damage with Crossbow Sniper from PHB2. Crossbows are simple weapons, so in general, they just aren't going to be as good as regular bows can be. Its not impossible, its just not easy. |

More expensive than a heavy crossbow, cheaper than a ballista. Maybe two full round actions to reload a crossbow that does 2d8 with a range of 140 instead of 120? Exotic weapon- mighty crossbow? |
| McPoyo01-30-08, 12:21 PM | There's the Great Crossbow in a couple books that's bigger. :P I'd personally just use a Ballista and a Glove of Holding. They are treated like Huge Crossbows, after all. |
| blade26501-30-08, 12:37 PM | A quick-loading repeating crossbow. |
