A floating wagon [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-01-04, 10:38 AM I came up with this idea on the bus the other day.

The wagon seems to float several feet off the ground, guided by the reins in the driver's hands. The wagon can hold up to 1,000 lbs and is able to float across the water as easily is it does land. It stays several feet off the ground, but can be made to jump across small gaps (no more than 10 feet across) if the driver makes a jump check.
Moderate Evocation(?); CL 10th; Craft Wondrous Item, Tenser's Floating Disk; Price 10,000; Weight 400 lb.

Comments? Suggestions? (Flames will be used to grill my dragon steak).

11-01-04, 01:14 PM I like it you might want something to hide it when you are in a dungon though.

Like a once day Major Image item that you can use to make it look sound feel and smell like bushes or rocks or what ever is there normaly.
the by the book cost is 6000 gp.

11-01-04, 04:07 PM It's a neat idea. I'd make it float just a few inches off the ground, so that from a distance it doesn't look like anything special. - Cut down on that unwanted attention.

I'd also indicate that it is not hindered by any kind of terrain - snow, ice, sand, lava, etc.

The Major Image cloaking device is funny. Better than invisibility because it hides the contents as well.

11-01-04, 06:06 PM The caster level is 10 (100 pounds/caster level). Tenser's Floating Disk floats about three feet off the ground, thus the wagon floats about three feet off the ground. I like it the way it is, very simple. An in-game wizard can be hired to enchant it with Major Image.
