As the title states, I would like to know if any of you fine folks know of a kit or other similar item that grants a bonus to Use Magic Device checks. If so, do you know what book (and possibly page number) it appears in?

No kit as far as I know, nor should there be (imho). If you want a bonus from an item, get a magical item.

dont know of any that are actually published, but my group has a set of books and charts as some sort of expensive tool set that gives a +2 to UMD.

Maybe something like that would be ok, as long as it isn't a standard action to get the benefit. UMD is very powerful and letting another +2 bonus come to it on the cheap should be limited.

The Player's Handbook offers:

===
Tool, masterwork 50 gp
===
Tool, Masterwork: This well-made item is the perfect tool for the job. It grants a +2 circumstance bonus on a related skill check (if any). Bonuses provided by multiple masterwork items used toward the same skill check do not stack.

So I think mine will be a top hat, tuxedo and a black wand with white tips. "Nothing up my sleeves... Presto!"

...Wow. That is so simple, and it looks like you're right. You're not even being sneaky or anything, the entire entry comes out and says that it covers "just about anything else" other than the kits already mentioned.

Brilliant! Give yourself a raise.
