i was wondering if i could get some input into 2nd editions weapons.

i know that weapons can have tiny/small/medium/large/huge/etc.
now for those weapon size type classifications. when you go to wield a weapon is it universally the same size for all races but the damage scales to what enemy size your fighting or does the size scale affect only the size of the weapon that you are wielding? like a s/m weapon does 1d8 as a long sword but 1d12 large. is that from weapon size or just the damage i do to a enemy of that size?:confused:

Just say a medium sized weapon (the size that a normal human would use) did 1d8 damage. If that human wields a large sized weapon, the damage would go up to 2d6 or something. That damage is done to all opponents, regardless of size.

This is also how it worked in AD&D.

In D&D 3.5 the damage is by weapon size. A small sized longsword would do 1d6 damage.
